Love the printing content! I’ve been having great luck with the Bambu high temp plate, had adhesion issues after 6 months on the textured plate and have since started using the Bambu glue stick because it’s cheap insurance.

Ya when I use those fancy design leaving plates I always watch that first layer. To get it to work I always clean with soap and water then alcohol and preheat the bed for 20 minutes to get everything warm. It's a shotgun tactic for sure. But I was baffled to have bed adhesion problems with PETG.

I never use part cooling for petg, unless there is a major bridge which I try to avoid with tree support as much as possible.

Do you know if you can mix TPU and PETG in a print.. so it would have a low friction hard wear shell but flexible base.. ? that would really sell the AMS for me...

Ams only recently started printing tpu,and only specific ones from bl. I had success manual changing both from pla and petg to tpu and it worked great. Tpu to pla is a little bit harder,you have to have the pla(petg) 20 or so degrees higher at least for the first layer so it can stick to the TPU.

I have to watch the prints i do on those plates. i do a lot of petg. one thing i did notice, though, if you pre-heat your chamber to 75ish. it helps. i did some wall decorations for my mom, and knew she'd love the "bling" of those plates. i have an x1c. so fire up the bed temp to 90c then turn the part fan on, close the door and lid. wait till the temp comes up and start the print. watch it do the first layer. you will know. but heating the bed and chamber helps alot. i HAVE to do it that way when im printing boxes on my lightyear plate. Otherwise the petg curls.

Any idea why the Bambu AI didn't detect any issues and halt the print before breaking off the nozzle? I'm considering an X1C, and would want to be aware of this potential issue ahead of time.

You can wrap your print bed in fake car on fiber vynal wrap that has texture, petg, pla, nylon all stick no issues and it transfers the carbon fiber pattern to the print.

Structural and Pretty do not normally mix. In my experience if something is meant for looks it's probably made for PLA and nothing else...

Which Bambu labs printer you got? I got the x1c, it has spaghetti detection and it’s stopped a few prints that popped off.. just made a plate of PETG for gears. Worked well but also I’m using a textured plate.

@ sweet. I came from a cr10s and modified that to basically have everything this x1c came with. lol. These Bambu labs changed the game. I just learned bout this printer a few weeks ago.
