People complain that MLB doesn't market their players but hate Ohtani when MLB has a global superstar.
@daydreamcon2 ай бұрын
@@realbkrick the MLB advertises Ohtani, not baseball. That’s the problem. They’re putting up a graphic for when Ohtani is going to be at bat for fucks sake. There’s 8 other batters on the team who have just as much of a chance to hit the ball. They care more about pushing one guy then pushing the sport
@steveanderson88262 ай бұрын
@@realbkrick I think it can be both, I'm a huge Dodger fan, so I'm cool with marketing Ohtani as a global superstar, but you need more than that to make the game stick. Think about what things like Madden and Fantasy Football did for the NFL, I fully believe you need multi-modal streams to grow a brand or sport, and Jomboy is a huge part of that.

Jomboy makes the best baseball video analysis out there. Also, adding to the argument of "get the kids hooked on baseball soon", I'd say that there are a lot of people outside the US wanting to love baseball, but NO ONE teach us anything. Baseball is not like the NFL, you kind of also need to know the stats, the intricacies of smallball etc...to reaaaally engage with the sport. US media has to teach foreigners how to watch and enjoy baseball.
