As always a great video, but I'm confused. Ricky Schroder wasn't an adult in the movie, was he? I thought he was 7 or 8 when the movie was filmed.

That's what I was thinking. He was 9 years old. How much of an on-set ego can a 9 year old have? I think this video may not be entirely accurate. They played father and son again in "Lonesome Dove".

Ricky Schroeder was only 9 years old when making the champ, I wouldn't call that transitioning to adulthood at all. Furthermore any adult that would have an ego conflict with a 9 year old child I would tend to think the fault would lie with the adult
