Here's PART 2!
Hope you guys had fun warming up with the first video-
this one is about how trainees choose and practice songs for their regular (monthly) tests that lead up to their debut.
I also have a few more of these coming up in the upcoming weeks, which I shot with a professional vocal trainer who taught in one of the major record labels so stay tuned!

It was interesting to hear that JYP disliked your "Disney princess" voice. I thought the label was known for its half air-half sound technique. As a layperson, I would have thought that to be a better fit with "Disney princess" vocals? Also fascinating to hear that changing your sound can compress your vocal range that much. Losing a whole octave sounds insane.

There's talent, then there is packaging that talent. Idols work on their talent, but the Agencies package your talent, and it may not be best for you, they think it is best for them, the market, the space versus competition. It's like a talented athlete, sometimes the System they are in and the role they play, doesn't suit them. JYP had a certain goal, and he thinks he knows best, but sometimes he misses. You do have an excellent, powerful and clear Disney Princess voice. You would have been great on Broadway.

JYP hasn't changed much. Could be why Twice has limited range, except for Jihyo. Who knows how many voices he's ruined?

He might have missed on my tone but he gets a lot of things right tho :) as for Twice I don't know for sure but I don't think JY should be held responsible for their range🤔

Gina’s vocal quality reminds me of Boa’s but fuller and less nasally. I rly like it! I could have really seen you being the next Boa. Really sad that JYP tried changing your tone.

thats very ironic jyp didnt like your disney princess tone. i could've sworn when you talked about when you were going to debut the concept you planned on doing was a janet jackson/BoA type of vibe and your voice is great for that anyway

We can see how much you were crazy about your music and trainings. It is sad that you didn’t have the chance to debut. But now you are here , talking about your past makes me to have a huge respect to you. So hats off. Thank you for sharing these I enjoy a lot even tho I am not someone who is close with the music industry .

There is so much information inside this video, that pertains to everyday life, not just a singers life - So you practice your song over and over in your head - this goal setting 101 - You visualize what you want to do on the stage, how the song will be sung to fit your personality, and be stimulating to your fans and the audience - you listen to how you sung the song, you video tape the yourself - you may even practice in front of the mirror --- When I was learning to do public speaking - they taught us to practice in front of the mirror - when you can impress the person in the mirror you can impress the audience - OK - That said - Stage Presence - Which is probably the most important aspect of what you do as a singer/entertainer - How do you acquire it and or develop it ?????? As always very well done XOXO

As someone who plays an instrument and doesn't sing it always surprises me how people are able to make music without having actual music written down. Most of the sheets only had lyrics with some annotations. I can't even imagine learning a piece without having the music. 😱😱😱😱

oh my god i love your voice.. i was just in awe watching the combination of your natural talent and very long training time.. even in the part 1, i am amazed by how well you sound even in warm up.. i'm not sure if i'm using this term right, but in the part 1 when you crescendo-ed and then you were resonant, it's sooo satisfying to hear.. i sing in a choir (tho i have little knowledge with most of the more technical music terms) and i find everything you said just the same and applicable to what our conductor have taught us.. especially the part in the music/lyric sheet where you write Everything.. the nuances, the dynamics, the details you'd want to see.. and i also watch the same warm up video (the purple one xd) when i warm up by myself, which i should actually do everyday as i have learned from you hehehehe thank you so much for all the stuff you shared! definitely learned a lot

I need help... I'm on a vocal evaluation app and the one thing I've been trying to figure out, because there is one thing that they grade that I'm having a hard time figuring out. Cause I have no idea what they are looking for as far as this. That is expression technique. I have no idea what they mean or what they are looking for.

@GinaEverywhere

Usually one song per month? If they don’t want to pass u the same song could carry over to the next month; or if the song feel’s totally not right for you might get changed mid-month as well

hello Gina, I'm not sure if you can answer this. What is SM E's objective in creating such big groups? I just can't think of any advantage of having super big groups. You wouldn't remember and notice all the members, some of them just look like back-up members. It doesn't make sense at all.
@sap3373
@sap3373 3 жыл бұрын
JYP's Twice is also relatively, a big group. Why? It is more sensible to create just a small group like 2ne1, you would know and remember every member for decades even after disbandment. That's why after disbandment, they still were able to keep their own solo careers. and people still know them individually, because they all distinctly marked. watching big groups looks like watching high school production performances all the time.. 😕
