The winner was only the horse and chariot owner, there were thousands of men with independent riders competing that were credited for it , it was not just Kyniska. Technically the athlete in the game were the horses (even if the rider is the one that manages them in that concrete race, the owner was the one that “broke” and trained them ) ...and they weren’t going to give a palm to the horse ...
