a partnership with sports betting, because of the insane amounts of money it’s bringing to the sport. It would just be a bad business move to not partner, at that point. Stop letting YT videos ignite that conspiratorial flame you got going. Match fixing works in basketball since you can award free throws and get guys in foul trouble. Football however, you can do neither. Points aren’t given by refs. Replay is a thing as well, so if there’s an egregious call, it’ll be obvious. This isn’t the 60’s when nobody was paying attention to sports and you could get over like that. If you’ve ever strapped on shoulder pads and a helmet, I’m convinced your opinion would change. Because when you’re the one on that field, you realize things move entirely too fast, and with entirely too many variables, for it to be fixed. Hard to script a punt scraping the back of a guys cleat by mere centimeters. Not to mention they’d risk a trillion dollar business over what exactly? It doesn’t make sense. But hey, you listened to a KZbin video, right?

You cannot talk about sports in Vegas and mention the Golden Knights in passing. While the NFL flirted with the idea of having a team for a while, it was the NHL who took the leap. Yes, the legalization of sports gambling made expansion easier, but the Golden Knights, specifically their owner Bill Foley, showed Vegas is a real sports town and support the Big 4 North American sports. Bill Foley is the one who petitioned the League for a Vegas expansion, got T-Mobile Arena privately financed, and put up the $500million expansion fee. The Golden Knights went to the Stanley Cup Finals in their 1st season. While they lost, Vegas was the perfect backdrop for the legend, Alexander Ovechkin, to lift up hockey’s holy grail. Last season the Golden Knights would go on to win the oldest professional sports championship in North America, and the hardest trophy to win all of pro-sports. They made Vegas a city of champions.

Let's back up for a minute. Vegas has had sports teams before the non parachuting Golden Knights. The Las Vegas Thunder of the IHL was wildly popular and did commercially well. The Las Vegas Posse of the CFL did so poorly the CFL relocated a "Home game" from Vegas to Winnipeg less then 24 hours before kickoff, leaving Winnipeg fans stuck in Vegas. The Wranglers of the ECHL, did well, but didn't last. The Aviators moved to a state of the art AAA stadium that makes a lot of MLB stadiums look like a dump. The As aren't moving to Vegas
