Thing is, most don’t go off of quality. The difference of a steak from Ranch Food Direct and from a local grocery is night and day. When/if you find a steak of the same quality, you will pay as much, if not more, and still won’t be supporting local small business. Far too many people go direct to price, and don’t consider quality when determining the value. I hope enough of you read this comment, and understand where it's coming from, and take it to heart. I was born and raised In the industrial Midwest. At 16, I moved to the Idaho panhandle. I spent several years with loggers, ranchers and farmers. I also spent almost two decades in Portland, Oregon. I'm now in my mid-50s, back in the industrial Midwest. After years of working as a trash man, truck driver, heavy equipment operator, etc. I have never stopped trying to bridge the gap between the urban Roots that raised me, and the rural connections, that changed me. Literally everything I'm seeing in this video, and extremely smart conversation, just reinforces my faith and belief that anybody who cares about this kind of situation has more allies than they could possibly realize. But before we in our nation can stand shoulder to shoulder against the extremely wealthy and powerful, we need to stop caring what church you go to, who you want to marry, what color your skin is, and recognize that the issue around guns is 100% different depending upon what zip code you were raised in. Some of the attitudes and viewpoints in this country are 100% based on the neighborhood and community in which you were raised. This doesn't mean those attitudes are wrong, it means that the conditions that surround us are different, and therefore the policy solutions will be different. The 1% has done an expert job of obscuring this simple fact and making sure that those of us who have more in common will never stand shoulder to shoulder and fight to make this country as prosperous as it once was. Please understand that I'm not exaggerating, when I say I have heard socialists in Portland, Oregon identify the exact same problems these gentlemen have identified, and recommend the exact same solutions. This is great for Colorado.But where in Montana can we support local farmers? We moved near Manhattan 2 yrs ago & attended the Potato Festival …but NOBODY could tell us where we could purchase potatoes. 🤔 We did find Amsterdam & Marble meats but no produce at all. The “farmers markets” were arts & crafts, nothing more. We stumbled upon some roadside potatoes headed towards Townsend on 287. I’ve bought containers to try & grow my own with little success. Anyone out there with info on a true farmer’s market please advise. We are sick of big box monopolies.

I think the farmers need to build power plants and operate indoor farms during the off seasons. The power plants can produce water, CO2 and fertilizers for the farms as well as other by products to supplement the business.

Absolutely astounding! The great wealth of knowledge, about the food industry, that you bring to light! I used to farm, raised hogs, many grains, but my favorite crop was sweet corn! I used manure, and beneficial insects! In sweet corn I released tiny wasps, so small that 5 could sit on the tip of an ink pin! A one time purchase of 5000 insects, at 15.00 dollars, including the UPS, overnight red shipping, would keep the ear worms population down to the point, that if you could find one worm, in a dozen ears, that was to me a heavy infestation! I’ve composed for over 30 years! I’ve preached that anhydrous ammonia, is a killer, and a great concrete mix, as was mentioned in this vid! If you buy fertilizer from the store, and say it’s 10-10-10(nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium), that’s 30 percent nutrients, 70 percent filler, or industrial waste, full of toxins, like lead etc. A good compost, for every penny spent is doing something great in the soil! Florida State University, back in the 1970-80 era, showed a 70 percent, less water used on onions, with a god compost used! I’ll stop their, as I don’t know how, or where to stop! I buy all my meat locally. We have two independent grocer's who sell local beef, chicken, pork and lamb. It is all healthy grain and grass fed. It is worth the extra couple of dollars, (and that really is the price difference.) There are also new companies popping up like Good Ranchers, that are American homegrown companies, started for this very reason. Great and informative. Trinity, what you’re showing with this topic has real similarities to what they’re saying on More Perfect Union and Robert Reich’s channels. Can real campaign finance reform and limiting the insider trading keep legislators from staying in office too long and giving civic minded citizens a chance to serve? Seems like instead of more legislation, government needs to enforce rules already in place. Like the Sherman Anti Trust Act.
