If I were the general manager or owner of the Bengals, which I'm not, I would pay Higgins, Chase and Burrow whatever they wanted and make it work with the salary cap. Then in the upcoming draft, I would go defense on every pick.

Burrow will need to reconstruct his contract and Chase will need to be a penny more than Jefferson and Tee and the front office needs to meet somewhere down the middle and make him realize that he’s always injured and he’s not worth his asking price in order for it to work. Other than that all draft next year really should be all defense. That alone will send shockwaves to all the teams that Cincinnati is all in.

I blame a lot of this on Zac Taylor. He completely underutilized and mis utilized Joe Mixon. Taylor thinks he's the second coming of Air Coryell. It won’t be hard at all to keep them together. If they make the correct cuts that every bengals fan know the need to make. They can go into this offseason with over 105 million in cap space with Chase on the books for 21 million dollar and Trey Hendrickson in the books 4 18 million. A raise for both of them will be around 25 million combined. That still will leave them with about 80 million to build the rest of the team.

Thank you! I think you're so right about the Bengals ownership. Unfortunately, it's time to leaverage that situation, and unfortunately, only one person can do that! I believe there are steps that the Brown Family Trust could take to raise the necessary money, but won't. They could sell 10% of their fanchise if need be, but they won't. And, there's two reason why they won't: Firstly, the Brown family wants to retain 97% or 98% of the organization, and secondly, bringing other financial parties into the mix could lead to more financial transparency. Unfortunately, the Brown Family Trust doesn't really want that.

His new money would have kicked in after his rookie deal, which is 2024. The only money received before 2024 other than that rookie deal would have been a signing bonus for the new deal. Agreeing to anything but a 4 year deal after that is also extremely improbable given the market for WR contracts.

You cant pay both without handicapping the team. Jamar will become the highest paid receiver, and Higgins will go elsewhere and get a big contract. Having one star receiver and a complement of guys on cheap deals should be just fine, as Burrow is a top 5 QB. Draft a mid round guy with upside at TE or WR and bring in a cheap vet, then fully commit to drafting and signing guys to improve the defense. Not a Bengals fan but that would be my recommendation as an armchair GM.

I been right about the bengals all year and even before the season started. When everyone was talking about how the bengals would rebound this season, I was the one who was saying how the season was going to be a wasted year due to have no balance in terms of talent and a average coaching staff. They should've traded for a couple quality defensive players last offseason with tee higgens and a 2nd rounder but the bengals front office takes no risks - they never do. If Joe Burrow is as good as everyone says he is, he should be able to succeed with a go to receiver and a bunch of average receivers like how Josh allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Brady has done in years past. The coaching staff is about as average as you can get. Zac Taylor isn't a motivator and he isn't a offensive/defensive genius. I don't know what his brand is other than being bland. Every press confrence, he says the same things with the same tone and his locker room speeches are cringe. The only reason he is still employed is because the bengals are more than thrilled to pay a average coach below market money. Zac understood this when he took the job and he knows they will continue to employ him if the bengals remain average because zac is willing to accept below market money due to him knowing his true value. I bet he was creaming his pants when he made the super bowl because he knows now he will have the HC position until he steps down due to him knowing his true value - the bengals have 10x more justification to its fan as to continuing to pay a cheap contract to a cheap coach than they had for keeping marvin lewis for so long. I am so done with being a fan of this organization. They are the most apathetic and money hungry organization in all of sports and its sickening to see the front office be apathetic when they have the 2nd best QB in the league.

Burrow is the only reason the Bengals are relevant. This falls back to the coach. He is the worst coach in the AFC and one of the worst in the AFC. Imagine what Tomlin would do with Burrow. They have only treated the organization in the self interest of the Brown family and because of they hover in mediocracy at best. This team win in spite of a cheap owner and a cheap head coach. We actually have the 4th highest paid defense. Bad free agent signings, bad drafting, and bad coaching are why we are so bad. Cut old guys that aren’t producing like Hubbard rankins and stone and we have nearly 100 million in cap to spend this offseason.
