The Co-Op is not a supermarket it's a glorified corner shop and their prices reflect that.

Our local coop known as the robbing b-stard shop is the only shop in our village. Its MUCH cheaper including fuel to do a 100 mile round trip to get weekly shop. Plus tourists empty the shops of goods by about 11am anyway.

Hi mate, just to say I like your videos about eating frugally, very apt for this world post Brexit and COVID when everything changed. I love finding bargains and can also cook, so I'll give you a tip for your next low budget supermarket challenge and that is to look in the offal section in the meat freezers, some amazing bargains like liver, kidneys, heart and chicken livers ect.. you could buy enough liver to last for a week easily for under £2 ! By the way, Liver pasties are delicious.

Co op has been around since before morrissons. It was the first corner shop and they used to accept tabs for people who couldn't pay. Now I think co op is less towards the people and more about profit.

I think Coop now fall into the trap of being convenience stores rather than a big supermarket and convenience stores are notoriously expensive

Not gonna lie clicked on this hoping you were gonna be eating co op pizza cos I swear there pizzas are the best supermarket pizzas around and you can get two pizzas and a pack of Coke Zero or Diet Coke or Budweiser for £6 so expected you to have pizza in all honesty. Co op are such a underrated supermarket

Hi Sam, I agree, save the funeral for later I know the standard UK-US soup is served HOT. I tend to prefer things at room temp. IF you're going to have chilled or room temp soup it simply needs a bit more herbs, spices and or salt. Just a friendly tip. and here's another.... Whenever I'm doing a mult-step recipe, even if it's my own...i kind of write it down. I once forgot to put sugar in a cake hahaha. Realizing it right after I put the pan in the oven I had to pull it right out again. stir the sugar in and replace it in the hot ove. Of course shortly after that I learned about putting hot syrups on hot cakes. This was Fun Tim. hugs to the doggo and Kaetchen. Jim Mexico

Use cream cheese instead of butter -- some added to veg soup makes it creamy. It's the way I do it. I have to live on a tight budget -- calories budget and £££s budget !

If you can't stretch to cream, try the dairylea (or supermarket own brand) cheese triangles. Will melt it and provide creamy taste you need for not a lot.

This video got me thinking that you should choose your favourite items from earlier vids as well and buy those and donate to foodbank. For example flavoures pre-cooked rice or best tasting veggie mix in a tin or things that have best value.

@3llio - sam doesn't actually own a microwave and that is more than ok, because everyone has their preferences. Another great video Sam! - keep up the good work 😊, and as a video series suggestion, I think you should attempt to live off foods 24 hrs alphabetically and see how long it takes you, say for instance 24 hrs living off only foods that start with the letter "A" Best Wishes!, Melissa Blackpool 😊😊

I tried making soup once with mixed frozen veg when I was skint, it is the worst thing I've ever cooked 😂 I'm an alright cook too. It was so bad it made my kids cry. No one could it eat it
