I’m not even a parent, just a proud aunt, and can’t even have biological children. Yet I’m watching this and feel a warmth in my heart for the way you normalise the normal things that comes with pregnancy and giving birth. There is so much that is never talked about in the changes and effects childbirth has on a womans body. And that is the reason why women don’t seek help after having injuries due to childbirth or afraid to ask about normal stuff. It is never shameful and it should be normalised. Like openly talk about diapers. I just love you guys for it. Im certain your videos will end up being a help for many women

I bled for 8 weeks after my first and 3-4 after my second. You’re okay momma. If it’s heavy bleeding with golf ball sized clots falling then you’re NOT okay but you are okay right now. This is normal. No one told me either and it caused a lot of mental and emotional trauma for me. My periods were 1-2 weeks long with my first until I got on birth control that would change that and my periods were so short after my second I thought I wasn’t really getting them. Your body changes so much every time. I’m sorry no one talked you through this moment, we should do that more as women for each other. Not to scare each other, just to inform and let you know your body IS beautiful in all stages, this means you are alive and healing.

For those in the comments section, if you’re bleeding at a rate in which you need to change pads after just half an hour or so, are having large clots, or continue to bleed after 6 wks postpartum, it is recommended you see your practitioner (whether that be obstetrician or midwife). These can be signs of something serious, like retained placenta, or it can be something as simple as your body’s way of telling you that you’re doing too much and need to rest more so you can heal properly. You can actually see a decrease in bleeding and then make it start up again if you increase activity too soon. So take care of yourself and REST postpartum. Chores can wait, and never be afraid to ask for help. ❤ - A birth worker.

You don’t need to hold up your diaper baby girl. We understand what’s happening & you don’t need to age it in our face.

Dude chill the f out. They are trying to spread awareness and help other first time parents that may be panicking. You have no right to shame them when they aren't doing anything wrong. And the wife clearly consents to posting this video or they wouldn't have posted it.🤦

No one told me either until after delivery. It varies, for me it lasted about 2-3 weeks. You will also experience contractions, and see small clots,as your uterus goes back to normal size, which takes 6 weeks. Anything larger than a golfball should be reported to your OB. The extra pads are only the first few days where you will experience the most heavy shedding of the uterine lining. By the time you go home from the hospital, the shedding will lessen significantly and look more like a heavy period. You should not need the extra padding after a few days, as it should not be this heavy after five weeks, and if it is you need to let your ob know.
