I have been doing it for 3 years next month on my chin, very consistently. I’m about to give up as I have seen only a small reduction, I don’t think it is worth the cost. I can’t do another 3 years. I’ve spent thousands already.
@ElectroYogi5 жыл бұрын
Hi J Hurtado, I am concerned for you that it's taking that long. We see all the hair growth cycles appear in a given area in less than 2 years, so if you have been consistent as you describe, and you're not making the growth worse by tweezing or waxing, and your hormones are stable, you should be finished with your journey on that chin for sure. I wonder what technique your electro is doing, and also whether you are going to treatments with your hairs in the most optimal stage of growth for permanent destruction. I wish we could help you here, but don't give up! You need to make sure you have the right practitioner and that the above things are solid. Wishing you all the best. nicole

Thank you for being forthright about the amount of time (and money!) involved. That has been the most frustrating part about this-she wouldn’t say how long yet I was going 4 times a month at $125 a time. We hadn’t even gotten the first clearance and I’d had 9 1.5 hour sessions on my chin and neck! If she’d said that it will probably take two years I would’ve had a better idea of what to expect, instead I just quit in frustration. I plan to return but now I have a better idea of the timeframe and will probably only go monthly. 4x a month was too much. Thankfully the areas she worked on are still clear. So hopefully I’ll just be able to start over and haven’t wasted my money.

I'm so glad I could help you Yes, it's a long process! But it is the only truly permanent one. It's hard for people to say how long it will take, due to the fact that so many folks do different things to their hair, and depending on the area, it can seem overwhelming. We usually see clients about every 3 weeks. I hope you can stick with it, and get rid of the hair for good! Sending you love! nicole

@iamherespinning5 жыл бұрын
thanks for the video. But is it true that when you have for example one hair, that one hair will be gone after only one treatment? or is it after three treatments, because of the different hair growth cycles? I've heard that the correct answer is after only one treatment, because it kills the follicle, no matter where in the cycle the hair is,. That its not like it is with lasers, where the hair have to be in the right cycle.
@ElectroYogi5 жыл бұрын
Hi Juni! It is actually a complicated question, because with a great operator/electrologist AND your hairs being in their optimal stage of growth at the time of treatment, you are very likely to have which ever follicles treated at that time to be 100% permanently gone after just the one treatment. BUT, our hair grows in cycles and that means that there are a LOT MORE hair follicles we are waiting to see the hairs come in so we can destroy those follicles. To add complexity, if the hairs are NOT in the active stage of growth when we treat them, you are more likely to have regrowth, which means we may have to treat that same follicle again.
@Abhi-mv3yh4 жыл бұрын
If the electrologist is skilled one hair follicle will require only 1 treatment.

Hi there! I have PCOS and get very dark, coarse facial hair. I have been using an underarm razor on my face since 13, and it is drastically damaging my skin - ingrown hairs and acne galore. If I stopped shaving I would probably grow a beard. Is Electrolysis even an option for me as someone with Pcos? Would it ever go away given the hormonal imbalance of pcos? Is it super expensive? I'm young and I'm concerned I will never have the kind of money for how many sessions I would need.
@ElectroYogi4 жыл бұрын
Hi L, I'm so sorry you are suffering. PCOS is challenging, but I have never had a client with PCOS whom we did NOT clear eventually. But you are right, it is a long and costly process. Depending on where you live, you may consider finding an electrology school that treats people as part of the training for licensed electrologists. The students must have a lot of training before they can work on the face, and the cost to see students is very inexpensive. Otherwise, maybe you can find out if your insurance would pay for an electrologist who takes insurance. That may also be tough, because the administration of working with insurance companies is usually more work than its worth for small businesses like ours. Lastly, I'd recommend getting a brand new razor, maybe check into the Billie razors, for the body, and a men's 2-blade gilette sensor excel for the face. And always use a gentle cleanser when you shave, and a rich moisturizer afterwards. hope this helps! nicole

Is it bad to have laser hair removal treatments on the face?
@ElectroYogi5 жыл бұрын
the only time I ever recommend lasering the face is for completely FULL AND DENSE beards, with very dark and coarse hair. lasering the face under these circumstances alone will more likely than not after 6-10 session of laser reduce the volume of hair by about 50%, or even as high as 70%. but know that MUCH of the hair will return over time. And, for anyone with ANY situation that is not that above, do not laser your face, or you may very likely risk getting hair you didn't even have before. We have seen hundreds of cases like this. Also for our transgender clients who first lasered the face, then finished with electro, about 50% of them wish they had just done electro the whole time because they were so frustrated by all the post-laser hair coming back over time. hope this helps.

@ElectroYogi4 жыл бұрын
yes, coco. it is safe for full brazilian. if the hairs are dark and your skin light, 6 sessions of laser would help reduce the hair volume, and then electrolysis could finish the job. if there is NOT a lot of hair, or it is light in color, I truly recommend doing electrolysis all the way, despite it being time consuming. What you want to balance is whether laser could stimulate hair growth, or remove it.

Galvanic electrolysis is definitely the only way to permanently remove hair, especially on the face. The bad news is waxing and threading simulates hair growth and electrolysis is a lengthy and expensive process. Hair also needs to be long enough to grasp with tweezers as well. It depends on where you live as to how expensive the treatments will be as full beard hair is notoriously difficult and dense. Also due to higher testosterone in men dormant follicles can activate between treated follicles. An alternative to work in conjunction with electrolysis is DMK Alkali as it is chemically similar to what the electrolysis process produces example; Lye aka Sodium Hydroxide NOTE ( DO NOT attempt to use? in desperation, raw Sodium Hydroxide (NAOH) on your face AT ALL or you will end up in hospital with chemical burns and disfigurement!!! ) Go to a professional electrologist or beauty therapist instead.
