What’s the time frame from being booked to make a video, to the final product being completed?
Well, it depends on the idea, and how soon the filming can happen after the request is first made.
The time frame is on average 1 or 2 months from initial enquiry to the finished edited film, but sometimes it can be as little as two weeks.
It’s the editing bit that has an impact on time, but these following points speed up the editing process: A clear brief before filming reduces the chances of edit changes, and a film with a short duration of a few minutes takes less time to edit. The fewer people involved in the feedback process and signing off a film means less chance of delays, and quick feedback means edit changes are done quickly.
The turnaround from initial enquiry to the filming taking place depends on if the film is due to be shot on a set date- so for example a function or an event. In that case time frames is down to when the clients first asks us. The more time the better though, especially if we need to hire extra people.
Often delays in sorting a filming date will be down to the availability of those on camera, the weather, the location not ready, or if we are already booked on that day.
Sometimes we’ve been asked to film something the following day, and the edited film is required as soon as possible- even the day after. So the turnaround then can be as little as just three days!
