How long is the walk to the Little Mermaid rooms?

A question I often see asked is "How long is the walk to the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation"? This video shows me walking from the center bus stop, through the main building, and to the end of the Little Mermaid building. It takes about 10 minutes and 30 seconds.

I stayed there last month, it is a fair walk if you are in one of the far buildings. It is a large resort. That aside I enjoyed the visit and will stay there again.. especially with the skyway to two of the parks

Good thing I'm staying in one of the cars suites. They're right there. That walk looks like it would not be fun after 4 solid days of strolling through parks.

It takes longer than 10 and a half minutes to walk this if you're have 4 adults and 6 small children. What was worse is coming back to the resort later at night with 6 very tired kids and walking that far. It was awful. I would never stay in the Little Mermaid rooms again...ever!

So the Art of Animation only has Little Mermaid single rooms? No other theming? I do know they have family suites, but it's just me and my son going so don't need the extra space (or cost) of the family suites.

Yes. In terms of regular rooms they only have the Little Mermaid section for that. The rest of the resort is family suites.

Do the family suites have the mermaid themed room or is that only for single rooms??

That theme is only the standard rooms that sleep up to 4 plus an infant under 3

Do you have to go through the lobby, or can you just go along the sidewalk? Seems like going through the lobby would be back tracking.

We had 4 adults and 6 kids, ages 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Those kids were miserable walking that far in the heat. Well, the adults were too! They were so tired at the end of the day that we could barely make it back to the room. I'd say go for your other choice. I thought this was so far away that they needed a shuttle. If we had known all this we would have gotten two suites!

Abigail Broughton actually you can call ahead of time and request a building. We always try to get building 1 at Pop and non preferred rooms are a quick walk to the bus area.
