It definitely takes a while to start seeing results on Etsy but the most important thing is to not give up :). Are you selling on Etsy as well?
@SandraDi

It took me about a month and a half to start seeing sales! I almost gave up - I'm glad I didn't. Everyone needs to just hang in there! Great video :)

Exactly! it's absolutely normal that things take a bit of time at first :-) I wish everyone was more honest about these things rather than pushing fairy stories of overnight success that are not the reality for 98% of people, and do not reflect the work it's taken to get to that "overnight success" ;-)
@SandraDi
@SandraDi 4 жыл бұрын
@@Tizzitco you are soo right about that!! It's so important to be honest about the reality of it because if we're pushing these fake stories to people, it will only discourage them when they're not seeing unrealistic results in the beginning

I opened my shop 1.5 years ago. I now have so many orders that I've had to raise prices to try and slow them down. I spend 6 days a week making my Etsy products at home and make around £4000 a month. Got my first sale after 3 days and I can still remember how excited I was. To anyone thinking about starting an Etsy shop I say go for it! I'm so happy I did

Yes! Deb!! I’m the same as you & hate the ‘unicorn’ stories online that don’t tell the whole story. Did they have a social media following before launching their shop? How many other shops did they have before that ‘failed’? At lot of the ‘unicorn’ stories are also usually clip art shops or non-time consuming making shops which is also something to take into account. Great video! 😁

Omg, seriously. I cannot. I can’t. There was one I watched before I found this channel. “My top five tips after starting my Etsy” 1. My wife had a baby, we told Instagram. Me: interesting. “Mum, I’m going to get pregnant” Mum: Simon your a boy. Oh… right.

Thank you for this. This is what I needed to hear. My shop has been open for a mo the and a half and no sales yet. I heard that you need to be adding like 3-10 products every day.. I have about 150 now. I think my SEO is good but not sure.. if things aren’t getting views. I also heard that it can take a while for the Etsy algorithm to recognize who your shop is for and trust that you’re consistently showing up to your shop every day. Do you ever do Etsy shop critiques?

My mom is selling vintage glassware and stuff on etsy and I tried explaining to her that those kinds of things might sell slowly and she doesn't seem to understand and gets mad and discouraged when she hasn't sold something in a week. I have no idea what to say to her, its mentally exhausting having to bolster her confidence every other week even though she does pretty well with her shop making a sale at least every two weeks.

That's good! it's a traffic game :-) I would show her this video + make her do the math as to how much traffic she really needs to see consistent sales as a "reality-check", so she realised it's not no one wants to buy the products, but more so that more people need to find them :-) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3q6p61uoK1ofdU&feature=emb_title

I only have 4 products should add a few more today. I opened an “Etsy” shop a few day ago. I sew hand made items. N I would like to get it generating money by February when I start maternity leave n if I can make 200 a month as extra would be great.

My best tip would be to research what people are looking for in search using a tool like eRank or Marmalead and to really tap into trends and leverage those if you are wanting to generate sales as quickly as possible. This might mean not designing/creating you are yourself in love with but creating things people are searching for right now :-)

Thank you for your encouraging words! :) It took me more than 4 months to prepare my shop. Yesterday I opened it and listed my first 3 items. I had like 4 visits yesterday and today none, Yesterday I also opened and properly set up my Pinterest business account and with zero views. Nothing is happening, nothing. I just keep refreshing my pages.. and feel frustrated and discouraged but yeah, I have to be patient and just do whatever I can meanwhile to improve my business. :)
