@triplemachine completely agree with your comment I used a decibel meter that I've used for years during fire alarm verifications and it came up with a very comparable result. I decided to do the video with the phone app as it would be easier to read if captured by the camera. And the app had averages displayed Overall I agree with your comment. However in this case the app did a reasonable job

You need to use a real db meter for these tests. Iphone apps are notorious for being inaccurate
