What if you had an equalizer with a sub out rca as well?

My question is how do you expect to use equalizer functions on the subs if you passed up the EQ from sub out on the l2ci? Unless the main inputs allow for you to still control your low pass amp? Then it would make sense. Can someone explain??

It doesn't work. I tried it that way. Your bass is going through your head unit now and can't be controlled by the EQ. The bass will still keep playing while the EQ volume is down. So your right. You won't be able to control the bass through the eq.

Lc2i has 2 outputs, one for speakers and one for subs. You can install Sub without using EQ. Speakers need EQ because lc2i doesn't provide outputs for individual speaker. ( correct me if I'm wrong).

Is better use the pre amp for the base, and the full Range from the Lc… thats for a better signal , and the bass is better from the pre amp

You can tap on one front speaker to install sub or to use lc2i. But I would recommend to tap on both front speakers for best results.

He’s connecting subs I assume with a stock unit. The lc2i provides the clearest possible output signal from a stock unit.

QQ, if the Clarion Equalizer already has High signal input, can we then remove the need of the LC2i LOC? Have you tested if we lose any quality in sound?

Clarion does not have functions that LC2i provides.

I would suggest run 2 amps only and lc2i has outputs for sub n speakers. Run 1 amp for speakers and 1 for sub. It will make your job easy and it will Reduce your cost as well.

I have a 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Im adding 4 new speakers, a four channel amp, equalizer, and a powered sub. Is the LC2i only necessary if I run the factory headunit? Im adding a Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10 powered sub, do you have any recommendations on how I should wire that in? Thank you.

Hi R D, Sorry for late reply. You don't have to LC2i . You can install 4 channel amp on current stereo and RF P300-10 can also be managed through equalizer. Make simple installation with equalizer. Thanks

Yes you can do that without RCA output, Use front speakers wires from back of the stereo. It comes with both options RCA input and High level speaker input.

I had this thought in my head.. I have an old 5 channel active crossover Front Hi Front Mid Bass Rear Hi rear Mid Bass Subwoofer With the LC2i Pro I can connect X1 Hi Power subwoofer amp X1 4 channel amp... And Daisy Chain the remote turn on from the LC2i Pro to the Active Cross over then to the Amps just like how I had it set up before in my VW Bora with Kenwood 725dvf....👍🇯🇲🇬🇧🇯🇲🇬🇧🇯🇲🇬🇧🇯🇲🇬🇧

So, are you using the EQ to split the channels for the doors instead of getting an LC7i to do this? If so, great idea I want to steal(if I understood?) bc I have the same Clarion and can just get an LC2. Please let me know if it all works out? I'm planning out a system now.

Hi John, LC7i doesn't have an equalizer, that means i can only make connection straight from LC7i to Amplifier, In that case i can only control bass from LC7i and from speaker Amplifier. Since I'm using tweeters as well, so there is no such way to Equalize sound if i don't use an Equalizer. I Just need a nice n' clean sound for that i used equalizer. And it worked really good.

I did a similar set up with 2 amps. Hooked up my EQ at front so i can control it whenever i want. I also hooked up the subwoofers rca to the EQ. I can control everything at any given time. Yes its more wiring this way but worth it. I never got my subwoofer to sound good using just the LC2I. Tried adjusting the lc2i gains but just didn't work out for me.The bass was just not there. Now every song i play from any source can sound bad ass with the EQ.

Why did you connect the rca to audiocontrol and not in the equalizer?if that was the case why not install rca splitter to convert them in to 2 channel to the amp?
