Of course it would work for other companies , who wants to buy a slot car that has nothing in its class to compete against it , the Scalextric IROC Z Trans-Am racer is a good example of nothing to (realistically) race against it , what if Scalextric only released one classic formula one , or one NASCAR race car ? There are ,55 of Scalextric's most popular series of all time , the vintage Trans-Am series cars (I know because I have all of them) , what if they had only released the #6 1969 Camaro ? They may have sold a few but what would they have raced against ? But there's no point in mentioning anything to Scalextric , peoples opinions fall on deaf ears at Scalextric , ask them , they KNOW what they are doing , I suppose that's why so many of their products have been sitting on shelves for years and years .

Thanks Dave. We hope you can stay strong. On Revos then not only do they run 3-4 (sometimes a half dozen) liveries in one hit but they otherwise do not roadmap what they are about until around a month/6 weeks before release. I find this lack of a catalogue mystique perhaps about the most irritating dimension with the brand. If the Datsun 510s first came out before the turn of 2024 (?) then, so far, no new moulds as we approach H2 2024 but plenty of great new liveries on cars - some, like the Marcos and the Ferrari F40, which have been with us for years. I otherwise do wish Revo would invest in a couple of replacement motor options and maybe a 'full stack' on the gearing which currently eludes the brand. That said, the fit and finish and packaging is always top notch and consistently so so.... yeah. Personally I am trying to cut back and so no more F40s for me but I am a sucker for the McLaren F1 from the mid 1990s. I am really awaiting the BRM GT40 MKII which I anticipate will 'rock' this business too?

Defo should release 3 or 4 or more at the same time, makes total sense :) maybe they should sell club packs of 4 or 6 so people can club together and buy the big back ???

Totally agree with your point, that for the hobbyist/club racer, having several versions of a car and several versions of it's real-life competitors makes a lot of sense. This approach has worked well for RevoSlot (and Avant Slot with their LMP cars in the past). You asked if the same approach would work for the likes of Scalextric or Carrera, well Carrera have done it on a limited basis with their DTM cars in the past. Now they're focussed on GT3, 1980's DRM (Capris, BMW & Lancia) and the BMW M1 (the old ProCar series from the early 80's). My guess would be that they sell more cars in multiple purchases than Scalextric, but that's just a guess. BTW, hope you're feeling better soon Dave, take care of yourself sir.

Avant VW flatbed and Porsche RS look tasty, debit card is quivering. Love the Revo Maccas, saw them in period at LM, over in the Sarthe for 12 days at the moment. Thanks for the update Dave, have a good weekend, hope the Canadian GP is interesting.
