TLOP is definitely a classic, as someone who wasn’t a fan of Kanye until 2022, the impact that 2015-2017 era had on my sense of fashion (as well as for many others), plus it doesn’t take a Kanye fan to recognize the most legendary beat drop of the 2010’s. TLOP had major cultural impacts because we got a look into Ye’s mind as a father, as an artist (both music and fashion design), and a Christian. Even as an outsider, I remember seeing and hearing about “Kanye dissing Nike” on Facts (even if the lyrics don’t hold up today), for its time, the all over the place structure of this album not only makes this album a classic, it defines what a classic Kanye album is.

@@ioKazaL take. Ultralight beam, Father stretch pt 1-2, bro FAMOUS?! Waves, Wolves, No more parties in LA, and fade. that album, and these songs specifically, took over the culture in 2016. that album cover alone made the album a classic, you could not escape TLOP album cover memes and parodies. now it’s one of the most recognizable album covers of the 2010’s. classic

8:53 Drake fans are not indicative of hip hop fans or overall cultural impact. Shit man, most of them crossover with Pop more often than other hip hop. It’s a specific group and I don’t care that it’s classic amongst Drake fans at all cuz that’s not what this is lmao. If we debate mixtapes only then maybe. He’s using anecdotal “This was the soundtrack to people’s 2015 where hip hop was at a high.” That’s just not valid or true. If we are using anecdotes (you shouldn’t and what I’m gonna say proves why) me and my friends were in college at the time and barely listened to that tape after it came out like at all. Bias is a funny thing lol

Donda is a classic, 3 arena packed listening parties before the album was even released, the biggest rappers/singers on the album, iconic moments and songs like Jail, Hurricane, Praise God, Believe What I Say, Moon, Heaven and Hell, Come To Life, No Child Left Behind, Jesus Lord. The rollout was a movement and could be considered the greatest Rollout that we have ever seen and the album was a cinematic experiance from start to finish.

crazy to me that The Massacre isn’t considered a classic to some or most people. sure it may not be as consistent or groundbreaking like GRODT but the hits on it changed the game and are still getting heavily played today, plus it’s got some of 50’s best deep cuts such as Ryder music, Position of power, ski mask way, etc

Kanye West Has undoubtedly 5 classic albums CD, Late Registration, Graduation, 808S and heartbreak, MBDTF. Drake has 2 classics Take care like you guys stated the landscape of modern Pop & R&B fusion, NWTS was his balancing of his introspective, radio accessible, lyrical gems. Nicki Minaj 0 classic records Big sean doesn't have the standout classic album like his contemporaries where u can say he's bringing something new to the game. Tyler the creator: Flower Boy Joey Badass again like his counterparts his catalog is cool 1999 revitalize the modern era of fans didn't get the chance to hear the boom bap sounds in the 90s era. Album wise nothing that makes you definitively say he change the game, shifted the culture. 50 cent: GRODT ASAP rocky: Live love ASAP, Long Live ASAP Pusha T: Daytona Solid video guys
