I made another little Highland whilst sitting there and people were so interested, I never get the time to felt at my normal craft fairs so it was good to see how it went. I will get more footage next year as I think I missed quite a few things but all the sheep breeds were impressive, take care Val xx

Philippa, apologies if I am telling you something you already know, but Masham Sheep Fair is a great one to go to. Their website gives lots of details. Nowhere as big as Harrogate, but still a good day (or two) out.

I went on Tuesday and it was such a wet day!!! Luckily I didn’t have too long a journey in as I went very early and I think a lot of people waited for the rain to ease! Still had heaps of fun and the people at Crafty Fibres were so lovely and gave me some colouring sheets for the Brownies. I loved all the different sheep breeds!

What a brilliant show, thank you for taking us with you. I would love to go there. Here in Australia our shows are similar but I’ve never seen one with such a huge variety of stands. We had our local show not long ago and my first horse felt got second place. I’m ready to move on to your horse head course but for some reason I’m having a major confidence meltdown 🤷‍♀️ it’s like I’m scared to start it. Thanks for being such an inspiration Pippa.

Yay fieldtrip! Oh wow, that was a big show, loads going on and so much to see! Thanks for giving us an overview. --- When felting on my lap (ao basically every time I'm felting) I always have a piece of wax tablecloth between my felting mat and my legs. One time I didn't and even through my thick foam mat I had fibres all over my trousers. It looked hilarious. Maybe with the wool buddy and other wool mats you don't have that problem, but just in case. (also those wax cloths are great for craft fairs in the cooler months, I have bigger ones I can basically wrap around myself and they help keep me warm. On the other hand, in summer you are almost melting under them... Nothings perfect ;) )

@@feltsbyphilippa Well that's just our job hazard... I have to say in summer I'm not covered in as much wool, but when I wear my signature long sleeved oversized sweaters... balls of wool are hanging off me everywhere :D Now I know what people with long-furred pets feel like!

That was interesting. I've never been to the show. My brother lives in Harrogate and said we could walk in. How wrong was he! I will try next year. I've just started needle felting and loving it.
