@Demure-q8p

@johnclark6064 what they want is to get rid of administrative apparatus in the government. You rely every day on this administrative apparatus to make sure that the water you drink isn't toxic or the house you live in is built by code and doesn't use toxic materials that will make you and your family sick with cancer. Federal employees check on local governments and developers to make sure that proper health and safety procedures are followed. Without that your life will be cut in half. That's just one example of what federal government does for you. There is so much work being done behind the scenes to make sure you don't get screwed by the profit and business class. That's why they want to get rid of the federal employees. So they can make more money by cutting corners and doing things faster at detriment to the environment health and safety.

The maximum lump sum buyout authorized by law is 25K. 8 months of salary for most employees, especially those who would consider the buyout, is significantly more. Second, I know for a fact administrative leave can be longer than a year. The guest is definitely slanted to the left. I cannot speak for legalities of the effort. We shall see. Oh, in answer to another commenter, Federal unions are forbidden by law to strike or negotiate salary. They are only to negotiate work conditions.

@@neoone330 speaking as a government worker, i can confidently say, a LARGE majority of workers are not needed. Either bcuz their position is not necessary, or the amount of work they perform is very minimal. Additionally, the gov spends absurd amounts of money on redundant/unnecessary things. Just as one example, the amount of money spent on new computer monitors to replace already working computer monitors is ludicrous. And it happens every year.

All you fire them all people need to rethink why you are as selfish as you are as fellow Americans and why we are so "if it's not me then you don't matter" now. @@kelvinw.1384 Not hardly. The department of education has a budget of 238 billion and should be dissolved along with the 4400 people. the department of education did NOT exist prior to Reagan, and as far as the IRS is concerned, there are too many of them and the taxes are too complicated. Reduce the complications and let them go. Federal government employees peaked n 1990 at 4.4 million employees. In 1950 the executive branch had 1439 people in 2020 it had a lot more. Besides you can't count the military, and they add them in in all the numbers. The whole Catholic Chruch with over a billion members has only a few thousand at the top.

I was a part of the National Treasury Employees Union. I was a Union Steward for 18 years in South Florida. That is an extremely liberal, Trump hating Union. That’s a fact! They will oppose everything he proposes. I watched it during Trump’s first term as President. They also don’t want to lose dues paying members. So naturally they oppose this.

Existing regulations do not allow for buyouts. There is a provision for severance pay when you are dismissed in a reduction in force. Management does not have the authority to put employees on extended administrative leave. Resignations normally can be withdrawn at will unless the agency has filled your position or by formal action eliminated your position. A hiring freeze would not prevent an employee from withdrawing a resignation. As a former HR manager, this plan is not grounded in reality. It appears to be the idea of people who do not understand the actual work of the civil service.

If the FBI, CIA, NSA and other important agencies are excluded, then it is a positive move by the Trump administration. The guy on this show is worried that, God forbid, reducing federal workforce would have bad consequences. May be it will have a positive outcome, because many federal employees are just collecting a paycheck, and doing little work. And, most federal employees don't have any special skill for the private sector. So, the job market will not be flooded.

Americans are fed up with the waste in federal government spending, caused significantly by entrenched federal employees who do not do their jobs. Only 6% currently show up physically to do their work. What are they doing? Who knows. We don't want government by bureaucrats. We want government by elected officials. We want the federal government reduced in size and thereby reduced in overreach on the American public. At least this current administration is attempting to fulfill the mandate of the majority of Americans instead of lining their pockets as is the past history of the federal government.

@ sir 90% plus government workers work from home. There agencies are supposed to provide congress each year with efficiency metrics. only three provided data out of the 438 plus agencies that use wfh, hybrid and telework. You have multiple employees that admit on open forums about hiring their friends, supervisors wives and other things, you have employees admit that their co workers are lazy and they hate they can't be fired. Yet you want count cunt hairs; ok i will say some. are you happy. you must be a government worker. sorry i offended you.

How stupid are you? Unemployment is about 1k max a week depending on your wage. It could be as little as $100 a week for about 26 weeks. The offer is full pay for 8 months and benefits. 😂😂 great advice, America will save more if they get fired. #just fire them and save more.

This guy is warping this issue because he doesn’t like it or Trump. He underestimates how many workers in the Federal Govt. have been waiting for this. I was in for 22 years, workers have been waiting for this for a long time. Workers on Admin leave status won’t be called back. Most have a Thrift Savings plan they can cash out to go along with the eight months of pay.
