After reading many reviews and watching a lot of videos, I chose this option for my first backup power station. kzbin.infoUgkxHypYDKHAN93Lp2RQpfvU_ksc70wJ00pt I was between this and a larger option that could power a wider range of items, but the price/size/capacity blend seemed right for this unit. Hasn't gotten a ton of use yet, but the build quality is solid and it charges fine via the Rockpals solar panel I purchased to pair with it. One thing to note is that the screen is optimized for a top down viewing angle, which makes sense, but this means it washes out at other angles - especially low angles. Not a huge deal, but perhaps a better option for the display could be used to provide wider viewing angles.

What are the top five solar generators?

The video presenter talks so confidently but in reality, he clearly demonstrates the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical know how. The video does not talk about the requirement of a battery for not only night operation but also for day operation because a 40 watt the solar panel only generates 40 watts during 3-4 hrs of peak daytime for the rest of the day it will generate much less energy so only if a battery is present then one can expect a reliable power source. Also, it does not mention the requirement of an inverter to run ac devices and its inefficiency. Which if calculated will not only make this system costly but also unviable because of around 80%-90% efficiency. No mention of voltage stabilization circuit or charge controller which is required as a solar panel out voltage continuously fluctuates in the day depending upon the sunshine and the load which again adds to the cost and also again a hit to the efficiency by 90% to 95%. To sum it all the hypothetical solar system described in the video cable of running all the devices simultaneously is only hypothetical and is not possible in reality.

thank you for this but most of us don't watch these kinds of training videos to find out how much a device costs. We just want to know what type of usage we can pragmatically get with this solar charging setup. Thanks.

sounds like a con job. How can a 40w panel supply constant power to devices that clearly use way more than 40w combined? Even if you used all the batteries in the world, that 40w panel will not have enough "juice" to recharge them given the larger than 40w load connected to the system

Can i run inject printer 🖨 at outdoor, if it is then how many time to use? And have any ac output from this device?
@Bushcraft-xz6xd7 жыл бұрын
No mention of a battery in this circuit? Any dip in sunlight and you loose almost all these usable functions as a 40 Watt panel is not big enough to supply constant current in low light conditions I.e a cloud passes over. Then without a battery at night this setup is useless. So a battery does two things, it evens out and supplies constant power under fluctuating conditions and also stores power for night use.

what kind of battery?
@CriticalRoleHighlights5 жыл бұрын
Lithium battery is the obvious answer. A standard led-acid battery (even if it's deep cycle) is just crap. The technology was invented for use with a starter engine in cars over 100 years ago so they're made for temporary power storage at best and the technology is archaic at this point. Lithium batteries are made to be a much more efficient permanent power storage solution. If you only look at the one-time purchase cost, lithium batteries are way more expensive. However, if you look at cost per kWh, lithium batteries are only a few cents more expensive because they are way more efficient and have a much higher lifespan. Add to that, led-acid batteries lose 50% of their capacity right out of the gate so efficiency-wise they're really twice as expensive. The charge cycle of a lithium-ion battery is 3-4 times higher and they operate perfectly fine between 1-100% charge, with the optimal efficiency range being between 20-80% charge (just like with your smart phone). A led-acid battery is pretty much useless and most likely permanently damaged below 50% charge.

Half watt for a phone charger? Even USB connector phone chargers consumes about 5W min. And you're using bloody fluorescent lights to act as "sunlight" to feed voltage onto the panel. Looks like my engineering studies went to waste watching this video...

OK it can run that when the sun is shinning bright for 4-6 hours a day but where does the power come from the other 18 hours of the day to power the same appliances?
@3DModelsToys5 жыл бұрын
You can use a solar battery charger that can be charged with a solar panel amd electricity regulator to buffer the energy when the sun is not shining and by so it can be most of the time online and power the remaining hours if you are really using devices during night.

Wait he keeps saying how a normal 40w panel cannot power these things, but his system can. What's the difference?
@ashleelmb9 жыл бұрын
I Think he's custom made his to connect multiple devices to it where as normal 40w panels only have a couple connector sockets

***** Ohh so it's not anything to do with how much 40w can power, just how much it can connect to? very nice thank ye kindly
@ashleelmb9 жыл бұрын
TeddyOG I didn't say that...but if you don't have enough sockets to power the devices in the first place then obviously, you can't power certain devices, obviously. But yes, there needs to be enough power to spread between devices too.
@TeddyOG9 жыл бұрын
Not sure how you didn't say that. You said its how many connector sockets, and I said oh it only deals with the connections. Not sure if you misunderstood me or not
