★ benefits: how many languages do you know? idk i lost track counting ages ago
basic sub so there aren’t too many benefits
bilingual, trilingual? nono try omnilingual
- considered to be a language genius, a whole ass prodigy, you’re just naturally gifted
- literally know every language in the universe, even the ones that were thought to not exist anymore
- your mind is able to absorb information easily like a sponge and maintain the information forever, you learn languages so quickly it takes less than a day to be fluent
- your memory is top tier: in less than 0.001 seconds you are able to switch languages and still master everything
- your vocabulary is so wide, you know all the words, especially the ones not commonly used in day to day speech
- be 100% fluent: speaking, writing, and reading. your handwriting is so perfect, pronunciation is top tier, and your reading speed literally beats the speed of light
- be able to learn any language just by listening (tv show, youtube video, other people’s conversations, etc
- the teachers don’t correct you, you correct the teachers. at this point, you might as well teach the students
- people mistaken you for a native speaker because you’re just that fluent. literally make fluent native speakers jaws drop when they find out you’re not native
- every single language test you get back always has a perfect score written all over it

Read me rant about languages because I don't think my friends are friends with me anymore. I also use incorrect grammar, which is ironic considering I'm talking about languages. Edit: I spelled 'favourite' Currently fluent in English, at speaking level in Spanish (for school), and I did do Latin but switched to Greek so I could actually talk to someone (I enjoy Greek so much it's honestly surprising considering 🔺️ is deemed an acceptable letter (we have 'o' though so I can't talk)) But honestly, listening to spoken Greek is quite easy for a native English speaker, assuming you're talking about something fairly modern e.g. mushzeo= museum (a vague representation of how it sounds) and if you can get past the alphabet it's honestly quite fun. The triangle letter from before makes the sound 'd' if you were wondering. As for Latin, it was quite easy, and I could find a few Latin covers of songs online (little dark age was probably my faveruite, otherwise known as 'Parva Otra Achea' (s.p.). 'V' is pronounced 'W', by the way. I'd say the thing that threw me off the most about learning Latin (besides the knowledge I probably wouldn't find anyone else to speak to using it) was that I didn't come across a word for 'the', (except for once in a song (??) Though I can only assume it was a different Latin to the one I was learning) though I do remember a few phrases, "Ego sum tu pater." (I am your father)- Duolingo "Tu non est pater." (You are not the father)-Duolingo "La musica mal sonat." (The music has a bad sound)- KZbin Latin cover of 'Little Dark Age" "Cubitum Eamus?" (Though 'Eamus' on it's own translates to 'Elbow', this phrase is essentially asking you to 'Come to bed?' (It is a Latin pick-up line)- The Secret History, Donna Tart (This book was the whole reason I got into Dark Acadamia, and therefore the whole reason I started learning languages again, and seeing school in such a glorified light. (Though the 'phase' of Dark Acadamia passed with the dawn of Spring , as I shifted my attempts to match the colours of fallen leaves, mud and coffee to the pinks, purples, whites and blues of the new world around me, I still view school and learning in that same, glowing light, and have since found that I actually love learning. Thanks for coming this far I suppose, I'd love to have a conversation with you in any of the aforementioned languages if you'd be up for it. Second edit despite the fact you don't care: Guess who took up Russian
