The last song covering the Danish BYEN Radio special from March 17 1969. It still astounds me that Bonzo was just 20 years old!

The scariest performance of Bonzo doing this song is from the Royal Albert hall performance. It's actually, truly scary..It's like he's super human. I watched it a few years back and thought to myself, he's not human. All it took was alcohol to literally destroy superman on drums.

Dude, you made my Sunday morning! A live Zeppelin drum cover, no crazy ass flashing lights, no one second camera shots from 752 positions with constant panning and special effects, no drummer gymnastics with stick flippy fuckery, and no costume required...didn't even have to show cleavage to get me to watch the whole thing. Thank you for showing your talent and a true appreciation for drumming!

This is the one I have been waiting for a long time. Not even a month ago, I said in a comment that this was the only performance you missed of the Danmarks Tv set, and here it is! It's unbelievable how perfect your playing is, down to every single note. I know this Bonham's performance like the back of my hand, having studied it for so long, and you nailed it, like everything else you do. You're the best, George. Thank you so much for this gem.♥

Thank you for this. Bonham being 20 years old, even though phenomenal, this was a good example as to how less experienced drummers use more arms and shoulders than wrists to play. We can see the same thing with live Bill Ward stuff when he too was a young drummer. Not knocking either drummer at all. I love watching Bonham go off on his kit like that.

Thank you George, this is the one i'd always wanted you to do! When i first saw the b/w TV of this, I just couldn't understand where all the drum beats were coming from on such a 'basic' kit (like around @0:55, it's like there is almost an overdub). Things happening that don't match the obvious arm moves, yeah? Now i know it's bass-drum work along with the well-known effect of having the bass sounding like the toms. Excellenty!

In an interview that appeared in Light and Shade: Conversations with Jimmy Page, the guitarist-producer explained how that applied to tracks like “How Many More Times.” “If something was derived from the blues, I tried to split the credit between band members,” Page said. “That was fair, especially if any of the fellows had input on the arrangement.”

Badass as usual, George. I recommend a channel on yootoob 'The Student Loan' who play the entire Houses of the Holy album on mandolin, banjo, doublebass and acoustic guitar; the way they do Bonham's drum parts on D'yer Mak'er is marvelous (as is Ringo's drum solo on Abbey Road's Carry That Weight---they cover that album too). Everybody sings and the girl has Page's alternate tunings down pat. They also do Kashmir & Out On The Tiles for good measure (plus songs by Dylan, Traffic, the Dead, Stone Temple Pilots, Phish, et al). I've never heard anything like them.

And if you don't mind what subdivision is the first really fast single stroke roll in Achilles Last Stand played at in the studio version? This is something I have been trying to figure out definitively for decades. Not even slowing it down in KZbin helps.
