As we mature, it can take longer for our muscles to adapt and recover; insufficient recovery time can also increase the risk of injury. So you should look at your recent weekly running frequency and durations, as well as how much recovery you've needed from those sessions, when deciding upon how many runs per week you can handle. Our Masters plans typically have 2 rest days per week; and two weeks of hard training are followed by one week of active recovery, if that helps.
