That's one of the few speedrun tricks I know, since it's just a normal game mechanic lol. I've watched tons of speedruns for all the Arkham games but Arkham City is the only one I really know anything about speedrunning myself, and even then I know hardly anything

I know it's a joke, but there's a cool detail about the mines that explain why they don't kill. If you pay close attention with the detective mode, the mines turn blue when enemied are in their radius, meaning that they turn non-lethal as a safety measure. I don't know if this is in the original version, i just noticed this in the Return to Arkham remaster.
