What about your keyboard? Anything special? I’m assuming you use a computer. Do you actually use final draft software? Or is that the job of the scribe in the writer’s room?

I personally have my own way of formatting… Slug/action lines are left justified, bold-print, Audio Direction are All-Caps/, bold-print, include pans/reverbs/Band-Pass/Freq-Filters/Freq(expressed in Hz where necessary/fade-in/out/(O.S./O.C.)/Basic Lighting(Underscore-All-Caps-Bold)… Also; J/L-Cuts: Same, bold/Caps/Left justified… Simultaneous-Dialog (OS/OC/BG), left-justified, normal-print, truncated Right-margin/no-spacing… Chyrons: All-Caps, bold-print… Dialog: Normal-print, standard(toward-center tabbed),(‘… foreign languages…’), all-italics, I also often use italicized-accents, especially when writing Region-Specific Dialects, British/Australian Accents, phonetic spelling of literal-speech with use of ‘/- contractions for precise-pronunciation as intended and often partial-word italics as needed… Right-Justified: Camera-Directions… All-Caps/Bold-Print, for example; WIDE-LOW-ANGLE: MED-CLOSE-DIRTY 2-SHOT: (-)45-DEGREE-SIDE-ANGLE: RIGHT: WAIST-HIGH: TILT-UP: TRUCKING-SHOT: LEFT: (F.G.) BLUR: OSS: JOHNNY. (M.G.) FOCUS: MISSY BOOM/ZOOM/TILT:UP/IN/DOWN: TO: CLOSE-DIRTY 2-SHOT: (F.G.) BLUR: FRAME-RIGHT:JOHNNY. EYE-LEVEL: CHEST-HIGH: O.S. SHOT: (-) 15-DEGREE: LEFT: (M.G.) FRAME-CENTER: MISSY. CHEST-HIGH: Bob: (OS) Yo, Jon-nay! Missy: Think somebody’s hollerin’ ‘fer ‘ya o’er yonder … I know, sounds ridiculous, but it’s easy to read once you filter out the extras and only read down the middle (non-bold)… But those are mine, Spec-Style Chiltons Do-It-Yourself-Auto-Mechanical-Repair Version Spec -Script Format is what I let people read, but even better, I offer Synopsis-Versions for brevity/clarity/easy-reading ….
