I told my physician I was in pain. They looked me in my face and said, "You're not feeling pain. You're feeling pressure". I explained exactly where the pain was and they rolled their eyes at me.

This is why I got a Black OBGYN. She was absolutely amazing and got my two babies here safely. I had her cell number in my phone and she drove over both times to deliver my children. She has since relocated and I wish her the best, but now that she’s gone I’m done having children; I don’t trust anyone else to make sure everything is done right. When she said she was moving i said it’s a sign, we’re done!

This bothered me. They acted as if it was her fault she didn't "advocate" when in many cases women did advocate but weren't being heard simply because they think we're damn near in human and don't feel pain like everyone else.

GMA....Why do you guys like using the world COLOR, COLORED when talking about different people. Why not Black or Lations or whoever your referring to. You have another one title "Communities of COLOR skeptical of Covid-19 vaccine" She even says colored in the opening. I'm just saying. Not right I feel. Don't get me wrong I Love GMA but this got me thinking and feeling a different way about GMA and the reporters and anchors.

@@KOK-sc8ez I understand where you coming from however in my opinion I believe each and every race someone is referring to, they should address them instead of grouping with the word colored.

I agree it would be easier for them to say how it affect none white women and the struggle that other race has been dealing with. It appears that they haven’t learned anything from the past 400 years, just because you generalize the word to more than just blacks doesn’t make it better. Last time I check white is also a color and when you use the word color to separate from white, it kind of seems like white is the main color and the other race’s color been added.

@@naeadore8277 This doctor Shaw is a liar. This video is a complete lie. The differences in mortality rate are 100% hereditary and beyond the control of any doctors. What this academic fraud is hiding from you are two important facts. First of all, the rate of death during pregnancy in Black Africa is 25x higher than the per capita rate of death during pregnancy for African Americans. It means our doctors are saving countless African American lives. Secondly, the cause of the discrepancy between white and black women during pregnancy is hereditary and due to genetics and this has been proven for many years. All 1.1 billion Sub Saharans are always at higher risk of death during pregnancy than all Caucasians on the planet. Mostly because of their higher genetic risks of hypertension. Lying about this feeds the African American victim complex.

funny how "listen to black women" wasn't one of the suggestions. that would certainly fix a lot.

As a Registered Nurse with more than 25 years of caring for pregnant and birthing women, this tv report was useless. It left the problem up to Black families to advocate for themselves and said nothing about training doctors and nurses to check their own biases and teaching them to avoid using racial stereotypes when caring for their patients. The white doctor at the end totally ignored the racial issues that were supposed to be the target of the report.

This is sad. Christians need to go to the hospitals and plead the blood of Jesus Christ over the sick, the pregnant and the nursing infants. This is a call for the Christian church to pray and minister inside of the hospitals. Who will go for Christ?

@@princessjasmin4218 blank women have the worst health out of any race and it’s self induced. We’re the fattest, least married, have the most fibroids, get the most abortions, NONE of that has to do with racism and it never will. It all has to do with poor life choices. I can’t relate to any of what I listed but I know my stats.
