The real reason tord decided to leave wasn’t Because of creative differences, but the fans constantly stalking and harassing him on social media. So he ask Edd to write him out of the show and in the episode, “25ft under the seat” Tord left the show with no explanation given, so that made so fan a little mad. And then Tord delete all of his social media’s and his youtube channel he was secretly using after he posted a video expressing his sadness for the death of Edd Gould and the real reason why he left eddsworld. Sorry for the long comment, but I hope I cleared everything up.

Honestly, I feel sad that I never get to experience Eddsworld before Edd's death. The type of content where the creators have fun with it and write the story as they go along is something that I absolutely love. The exact reason why Tord left is a mystery in itself, there being little to almost no evidence other than people’s speculation, which isnt at all facts. All we know is that Tom said to leave him alone, because he didnt like the attention he was recieving. Shipping that obsesses, and passes the line between fiction and reality, is more of a modern fandom issue. It affected Donator Patryk and Animator Paul poorly, Patryk even quit his ties with the fandim entirely. But this ship only ever came into fruition during the Snogre episode. Plus the hate between Tom and Tord that fans obsessed over was only ever completely and truly explored in the ‘The End’, which came out years after he left. Im just saying: Tord didnt leave because of shipping. We dont EXACTLY know why Tord left other than he was being pestered in a way he didnt like, like OP Commenter says.

I saw a screenshot on an old chatroom I cant recall the application of that displayed itself as a Tord Hate Group. Eddsworld and Edd Gould are the reasons I love animation so much. I wouldn't be attending college for animation and making my own stuff in my free time if it weren't for watching this series as a kid. I though it ended really well, and it feels a little bittersweet that it's coming back. I'm sure matt and the new team are going to do a great job, and I'm happy Edd's legacy still lives on. This series holds a really special place in my heart and I'm legitimately excited to see where it's heading. Fantastic vid as always DaftPina!

Although it was only like 3 seconds in a montage, it was the first time I felt like I had ever had a piece of my art acknowledged by anybody on the internet. Then you have the fact that a lot of fan girls have a habit of fetishising gay men (in the exact same harmful way that straight men can fetishise gay women), so you have people making what amounts to organised sexual harassment against real life people, one of those people being dead. Imagine your best friend dies, and you continue writing the show. Then, to top it all off, you have people writing inappropriate content of you and your best friend who died. It's a genuinely disgusting situation to be involved with. No one is saying "fangirls are bad and cringy and by getting involved they ruin it", we're saying "fetishists made copious amounts of porn about a dead man and his friend, and that's disgusting".

Well Tom left, made ASDF, and is now a depressed brit who surrounded himself with the clout of newgrounds and notoriety. Now hes hard stuck to keep ASDF going due to demand. Pina talked about how the fame got to his head and he refuses to acknowledge that he needs to take a break and reset his social circle. Matt can breathe new life into Eddsworld. I hope things works out so that we have another classic animation genre still living with us past 2020.

Dope92 I still think Pina was incredibly unfair to Tom in that interview and bought into a lot of the bullshit people were peddling about Tom at the time. I heavily suggest checking out Tom's interview with Marc Lovallo to get a more rounded view of what actually went down and why things were so difficult for Tom during that time. A lot of it had more to do with fans treating him like trash and accusing him of being a grifter, which I saw firsthand on his video where he talks about Edd's death. Unfortunately, it seems Tom took down the video due to the amount of abuse he received from it. I think people tend to forget youtubers are people too, and Tom is someone who was always very open about his confidence issues, low self-esteem, and depression, so accusing him of being ego-driven or saying the fame is a really toxic way of approaching this. Not to mention, Tom did take a break and reset his social circle - even later reconciled with Bing, so I'm not sure where that part even came from. I just chalk it up to Pina being less experienced back when he made that video and going more off public opinion than actually doing research at the time.

Edd was a man of culture, and the fans were dangerous. I'm waiting for the future of the show begin, so that way I'll see what Matt improve for the show. And I'm not showing shade to other fans who are respectful to eddsworld, just the ones who's harassing the team. I'm a fan from 2015 to here, but I feel like I'm seeing alot of fans who are ravenous to the whole thing. I'm loosing faith here, I'm losing it every fucking day. So guys, if you are a fan. Just stop attacking the team of eddsworld and just let them be, I mean you've already did that to Tord.

That was the reason he got rid of all his social media platforms. He just didn't wanna be apart of the project so since Edd couldn't answer the fans, the fans decided to dox Tord and threaten him to come back. So he legit went into hiding :(

He left because he wanted to make his dream of becoming a comic artist come true and he was being harrased and stalked. He also didn't want to smooch of Edd. And people kept associating him with the character.... And before you bring up shipping, no. Shipping had nothing to do with Tord leaving, TomTord wasn't even popular back then. He left in 2009, not in 2016 so I don't know why people are bringing that up...
