I have over 2k hours and I haven't played PVP for upwards of 4 years now. Hearing how this game has descended into chaos is truly heartbreaking. I stopped playing ARK because a GM named Reaper decided (in PVE) to take away my base zone that I had claimed within minutes of opening the Gen2 servers to give it to a friend of his, who happened to be the developer of a MC mod. The worst thing about Wildcard in that sense is that they allow complete abuse because no matter how many tickets you open and how much evidence you provide (in my case videos in which you could see conversations anticipating what was going to happen and making clear the corruption of, at least, this GM), the abuser is always going to take them and do whatever he wants without any supervision.

I think the way to get justice to the publisher was to make this story be shared to more and more reputable journalist. I think any journalist would gladly dig deeper on this kind of drama "Game publishers abuse power to ban enemy players or Game publishers abuse power to cheat on their own game". And once an article was made, other journalist would then gladly jump to the drama and copy the article to make their own, and would then snowball to an effect on casual people (like people on reddit or twitter) keep hearing about this, be mad at them, and share the story because people loves drama. Then by getting criticism and repercussions from the public that aren't even related to the topic, they would get their justice which would lead to any outside parties (like investors or something) supporting them backing out.

Ark is completely corrupt in their dev support system. I had not played official servers for 3 years and was just playing mts and other unofficial servers. I randomly received a global ban and the reasoning was “meshed base on official”. Obviously this was not my base and was most likely a tribemate in a tribe I used to be in previously had created a mesh base. I provided the devs with clear data showing I hadn’t been active on official servers for years and therefore I could not have a base in the mesh due to decay. They rejected all of my clear proof I was not living in the mesh and I received a global ban.

This reminds me of the Admin abuse on Battlefield 2/3 back in the day when you could get account bans (yes a complete EA Ban) just for killing a guy who was a volunteer for the enforcement team of Ranked Servers.. The admin abuse on Battlefield was mad back in the day, forced death, forced team change (win the match for his team) and just getting banned for legit killing them. Then there was a Xbox enforcement Team.. Don't get me started on those W**kers, console bans if you killed them, it got so bad if you saw one in your lobby you just left and made a new lobby and that was sometimes enough to get you banned.. Thank god KZbin became a thing to record those A**holes and get your console ban removed..

Something similar was going on with a private server for Warhammer Return Of Reckoning. I covered it in "Warhammer Return Of Reckoning: When Private Servers Go Wrong" The admins were SUPER aggressive towards people, including myself when i went to review it... i told them on facebook i was going to out them as arseholes, i gave them every chance to chill tf out and be civil, and they dared me, mocked me, said the video wouldn't break 100 views, and didn't retract their statements. It sits around 15k last i checked lol, and STILL gets complaints from people who have bad interactions with them. Always expose MFers like this. Publically shame their corruption and redirect traffic AWAY from them. It's the best way.

I can vouch that i'd joined a tribe years back when i was still pretty new to the game. A guy i played with for a month on a random official had invited me to a tribe his friend invited him to. It was an official server that needed an admin password to enter and was hidden from the main server list. After seeing this, i'm almost certain it was a Snail games tribe.

something i dont get, if TEA operates on conquest why do people keep playing on those servers? are they popular or something or does TEA exist in every server and not just conquest? i dont know its been a while since i played ark so i dont really get why people play conquest.

i've always played ARK on private servers because every public server i ever tried to play on i can't get out of the starting areas because the beaches are littered with tribe bases(or at least pillars with ladders on them) that prevent building anywhere so they were already a pretty toxic place to even attempt to play.

Yeah. ive not been banned from the game. But they did ban me from the forums on steam a few weeks ago. For questioning the new game. So then it got highlighted that snail games have mods, that bans people. So i was not alone, it was some kind of damage mitigation i think.

Technical win. Those guys are just sore losers. It’s a huge black eye to the community. I’m still waiting for Vin Diesel to make his own statement on everything that’s going on with Ark right now. I think KZbinrs of the Ark Community should release videos that call upon him to speak up. Asking him to release an unscripted statement from his heart on the whole entire matter. Snail and Studio Wildcard have already betrayed us and him. He’s a powerful member of the community who represents the community and not Studio Wildcard.
