classic Vice. This was a great piece! its hard to understand what its like to suffer from addiction unless you have gone through it yourself, it destroys your free will. Some kind of treatment or intervention is necessary. Of course, people have to be ready to change as well, but those resources have to exist and be widely available for those people at that time. People also don't realize that this treatment helps stop petty crime, saves taxpayer money from extremely costly non-preventative healthcare like emergency services (its well into the 100s of millions) and it stops the spread of disease and addiction problems from spreading due to cultural and proximity reasons... and of course, it saves lives. You can't recover if you are no longer alive. But a lot of people don't see it like that until it is them or their children who have a problem or god forbid OD. We have to be proactive about these things as a society, its to the benefit of everyone.
@RmainconnectАй бұрын
Very well said. Here in the US, treatment has become much more available, but it is still out of reach for many. You would think that losing 70,000 lives to fentynal each year might be a bigger concern for politicians....
@sifins1579Ай бұрын
what are you talking about? do you want their to be some agency that identifies drug users and pressures their relatives/friends to form an intervention? also the government doesn’t foot the cost for healthcare, hospitals do but they can write off their taxes, so it’s no costing them much either. what do you mean by treatment?

I have ADHD and had huge self esteem issues, but speed made me just dead inside, it made me courageous, i'd go outside beat other kids but once it's done, you realize that apart from your boost of confidence, you basically lost everything else in the process. Morphine is something else... It feels like your whole world becomes a disney movie, you feel tingly, all warm inside. There is no way Mephedrone make you feel as good as this, since norepinephrine being called by morphine is what creates the anxiety reduction and the feeling of safety, that nothing can touch you, not being you're bigger than the rest of the world, but because you feel so safe and it just doesnt matter, you feel infinitely craddled and euphoric up until the drug itself run away from your system. I have huge anger issues and impulsivity, so yeah, i dont want speed/meth/mephedrone, that's not the way i loved to let go, not in being bigger than myself but in feeling such at peace that you couldnt care less just how little you are compared to the rest of the world.

@Taylor-cu2dh19 күн бұрын
@@DieEineMieze for me the high felt like the same energy of loving everything and sensory stimulation but without the drawbacks of the body high and anxiety that mdma can give you. And it feels more of a sensory high than mdma which it’s probably most similar to. And I wouldn’t say ppl are crazy after it, more so that it inhibits boundaries and people get too touchy touchy and if they keep doing it every day, which is very easy to do, you can’t imagine life without everything feeling amazing all the time and the crash obviously from that is horrible, I’d sleep for days on end sometimes. I’d say it feels also like multiple substances at once but it’s been a while since I swore off it so I can’t tell you exactly what especially cuz I was usually mixing it with a bunch of other crap, my favourite was ketamine + mcat or ballons + mcat. However you would have to use it a lot and regularly for it to be neurotoxic. The problem with it and why people can't have fun without it is because it's very very psihologically addicting.

It is not a subtle drug, it's a commitment. You are going to be very fked if you take this, you can't just blend in around sober people. Doesn't feel as bad for you as other stimulants, bit more forgiving. That's not based on any science, just the subjective effects. Drug treatment that works such as Portugal's Initiative require drug treatment in some cases government intervened drug treatment. This is FAR less expensive than 8-20-year jail sentences and MORE effective than prison which also are full of drugs.
@DumHeatherАй бұрын
And also only works in countries like Portugal because they are a cohesive family oriented monoculture compared to most other western countries and their morals and traditions haven’t been utterly desecrated in the name of The Agenda… yet. Portugal’s drug initiative in America or even Canada or England would only be a Portland Oregon 2.0 no matter how you tried to spice it up. Addiction is a disease of modernity and you can’t get rid of it or its symptoms simply by legalizing or criminalizing drugs. It takes community, healthy relationships, and traditional human living tailored to different cultures personal ways of life that were created and honed over thousands of years to cure addiction and clearly we’re never going to get any of that back so addiction and it’s destruction of dysgenic people is here to stay exactly as planned.
@DumHeatherАй бұрын
Let me see if I can post again without being censored. Portugal’s drug situation only worked due to Portugal being a relatively monocultural traditional and family oriented country compared to most western countries. It would only turn into Portland Oregon 2.0 no matter how you tried to tweak it for America, Canada, England or most other western countries. Addiction is a disease of modernity and requires strong community, healthy relationships, and traditional roles for people to fulfill tailored to their own personal community as evolved over thousands of years. Simply legalizing or criminalizing drugs won’t help anything and neither will any other current drug initiative because we’d need a complete cultural shift before anything worked. Not going to get that though because this is all happening according to plan since we can’t keep multiplying like a cancer on this earth as modernity has allowed us to do. That’s unsustainable obviously so those behind the curtains will continue to push policies and harmful propaganda and ideologies that convince us to thin out our own herd so that the authorities don’t have to look like mean ol authoritarian meanies and do the job for us.

I think NZ was one of the first countries to have 'drone' going around....we had no law specifically banning 'similar substances' to illicit drugs so much like Methylone that was 'legally sold' by Matt Bowden, Mephedrone was also in a grey area of law so became prolific fast I saw immediately that unlike Methylone the 'drone' was very popular with Methamphetamine users/addicts and people seemed to really feen for it

The music video for Pink's 'Sober' is incredible. That beginning with the church bells - I can't even count how many times I’ve heard them after a night full of action. Then dawn breaks, and the church bells... a magical moment. Now, whenever I hear that recording, it reminds me of those sleepless nights. I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world.

I am from Poland and it's not that we face there a huge problem with mephedrone but as I was 16/17 y.o. one out of five of my friends would use mephedrone and as funny it was then, later the takers would have faced problems like totally destroyed nose, bleeding from throat, and vomits with blood. The most miserable thing is that they would take it with friends, but the faced side effects alone usually out of shame.

This brings back memories, had some of the best nights of my life on this shite but it took over my life for 3 years, 3,4,5,6 nights awake on it, absolutely insane. 2010 it absolutely swept the UK, don’t think any drug hit so hard so quickly

i was raving with russian locals a few years ago and made really similar experiences. the easy access to drugs is actually scary. i went there with a couple, who were both about 17 years old and told me they were using mephedrone since 1 year on a regular basis. they were really kind people, but you could see the marks on them from heavy using for a long period of time. at the rave there was a girl i got along with really good. she came over after it was over and we stayed up all night, deep-talking for hours on. kinda wonder, how their life looks right now.
