Spanish/Portugese-speaking countries can produce this talent because everywhere else they train this out of you young because you're 'hogging' the ball. Messi can do this because he has been allowed to practice 1on1's literally his entire life. That's a huge part of how he can make these split-second decisions so fast and so naturally. Had he grown up in an English-speaking system, he'd have still been a good player, but not among the all time greats like he is (and I would argue the GOAT dribbler, which is a shame Eden Hazard couldn't keep his peak going as long).

Instinct, for an example: if Messi dribbled past 1 defenders the there was another defender 5 meters to the side of him that’s rushing towards him his instinct would make him go against the defender momentum if he looked up and sees his teammate in a good position where they could score a goal but there’s a defender 2 meters away from him that’s also rushing him then his instinct would quickly make a pass to the teammate in a good position. So what I’m saying is that Messi dribbles in a term called “flow state” which is basically dribbling without thinking and making good passes without thinking and everything else without thinking. It’s like walking, when you walk your not thinking how your gonna move your foot to walk your no thinking of that at all same goes with Messi’s dribbling and how Messi makes fast decisions it’s flow state he doesn’t think of it it’s natural search a video on KZbin if you want to be in flow state in a game.

@rookemistake3 ай бұрын
You can improve dribbling but if you don't have the combination of a lot of abilities when you are born you will have a harder time. There are guys who van improve quicker than others and there are guys that can improve to unreachable levels for others. It's not just hard work. Guys like Taarabt or Ben Arfa were not hard workers but they had great dribbling. A big guy like Süle or Haaland will never dribble like them. They have longer strides and lower step frequency when they are sprinting and they can't change directions quickly or slow down easily because of this plus the bodyweight and worse balance because of height makes it all worse. Ibrahimovic was an exception but he was extremely smart and even then he wasn't the greatest dribbler. But don't believe that Haaland or Süle couldn't dribble amateurs. They can dribble and they can dribble better than most of footballers but they have roles in their teams and they are not permitted to do certain things by the manager. There is less space and time especially in the central areas in a top 5 league than you can imagine. They can't risk to lose frequently the ball or central defender dribbles close to their goal without proper backup. Still don't think that Haaland or Süle couldn't dribble alone your friends team and even the goalkeeper. However, their dribbling is not close to Messi or Ronaldinho level and that's a problem for their manager and they have to play roles that emphasize their real strength at that level. So most professional footballers can dribble they just don't do it often in first divison games but the ability for dribbling is a combination abilities and potential that pretty unique so to be considered as a great dribbler you need to have a lot of natural dribbling talent that is rooted in your genetics.

Not only, sometimes Messi uses body feints when defenders are jockeying or not coming towards him but apart from that, then yes, most of the time when Messi’s versing a defender he will be proactive and reactive. What that means is that he will do something to get a response from the defender (example: he could cut left to make the defender go to the left to block him from going past the defender but now that Messi has cut left the defenders momentum is going left) now that’s the response the defender going left but then Messi will be reactive by responding to that situation cutting right using the defenders momentum to his advantage beating the defender. What im saying is that Messi will be proactive by trying to get a movement from the defender so then He can be reactive by reacting to that movement accordingly ultimately beating the defender. Messi is creating his own situation so that he can respond to that situation.

You can only decide that fast which side to go once you are very very well trained. Mma fighters also operate in similar fashio to read their opponnents moves at their first glance to start it

Man you’re changing font size and text location all the time. You’re already in a niche. Sure, there will be some that say it was no problem for them to follow but thats a smaller group. Do you want to create for only a sliver of people in the niche or own the niche?

This is just basic methods of dribbling all players do it the only difference is messi mastered it So next

If Mbappe play on 80s and 90s he will dribble the entire team lol 😂 The defenders is trash back then. Too much space, they run to where ever the ball goes 😅 If Maradona / Pele play against Ramos & Pepe, they will die or injured like Kaka. Old football is garbage. Take your bad tv and nostalgia bullshit somewhere else 😂 Even total football hasn't been found back then. Only a bunch of factory workers, and part-time farmers lol 🤪😆 Even maguire are far superior than all those bums. Let alone Neymar. Forget about Leo Messi 😭

What's also not shown it's the hack at Messi's ankle on 0:54. Much of Messi videos don't really show them.

So he sees where the defender goes and goes somewhere else.Dead easy.So easy it’s almost like he’s cheating.Dont know why anyone else didn’t think of it .Its that simple and now we can all play exactly like Messi 🙄🙄🙄
@PitchPro73 ай бұрын
@@petermontgomery8707 not as simple as that, defenders are smart you can’t just say he sees where defenders go and he goes somewhere else it’s always accordingly to the defenders movement and require timing and reaction plus that’s not all there is to dribble you can’t just rely on that you use many many other factors to always beat a defender

then go play exactly like messi, go on. the breakdown shows all that needs to go to a succesful dribble, and Messi didnt even have half a second per defender response to analyze what is best. Watching where the defenders go is not so easy while barreling down the pitch a high speed while also trying to not give away posession. horrible ass take of urs
