This guy's insane. I'm a Ronaldo fan but I'll have to admit, his dribbling is godlike, no one touches him when he's in the mood, and it's almost like he's built for it, he's shorter, better balance, agile and has been training since he was a kid so definitely the muscle memory is there, couple with his close control and ro be able to do all that in high tension matches. Definitely a 🐐 in my book and the Greatest drivbler OAT

The more deep you're sinking into football and have an eager to learn about it. The more you appreciate the amount of talents and skills messi has possessed. The more you realize he's out of everyone levels even after we analyze his game, it's more than what we thought, it's not that simple because you know his brain and reaction is miles ahead and much quicker, what impress me that he can make a right decision in just miliseconds. When others still processing how to take an action, he's already 2-3 step ahead. That's anomaly fast thinking making him in his own level than any world class footballers. literally the extraordinary one amongst extraordinary, making him the anomaly one.

Yeah it is purely instinct. Don’t wanna brag but I have a similar playing style to Messi and ofc I’m not nearly as good but the opponents I play against aren’t pros either. So when I dribble I don’t think about all this stuff it just comes naturally. I’d imagine its the same for Messi but he does it at such high level and has put a lot of dedication to be able to do so. For anyone who doubts Messi’s dedication and calls it all talent, they are so wrong.

Many negative comments here. We know it's Messi and its instinct and he can perform them because of his body/speed/technique, but i like how the video shows how many things are taken into account when dribbling and making these decisions. Maybe beginners or younger players are watching this and this helps so it can become their inatinct one day. Keep it up, and look at the lositive comments. Take feedback on the font side and location as a positive to improve! Will check the channel for more videos

The video was great, and the analysis was really good; I hadnt realized how much analysis must be performed in less than half a second by Messi to actually be able to dribble like he does. Yes, you can improve on the delivery, like the text being more legible, but those are also not a big deal. The video got across what it needed to get across. Spanish/Portugese-speaking countries can produce this talent because everywhere else they train this out of you young because you're 'hogging' the ball. Messi can do this because he has been allowed to practice 1on1's literally his entire life. That's a huge part of how he can make these split-second decisions so fast and so naturally. Had he grown up in an English-speaking system, he'd have still been a good player, but not among the all time greats like he is (and I would argue the GOAT dribbler, which is a shame Eden Hazard couldn't keep his peak going as long).

Because most defenders are taught to run backward and giving too much space to the attackers. They do this and never ask why even 99% of the time they were over ran by attackers. Instinct, for an example: if Messi dribbled past 1 defenders the there was another defender 5 meters to the side of him that’s rushing towards him his instinct would make him go against the defender momentum if he looked up and sees his teammate in a good position where they could score a goal but there’s a defender 2 meters away from him that’s also rushing him then his instinct would quickly make a pass to the teammate in a good position. So what I’m saying is that Messi dribbles in a term called “flow state” which is basically dribbling without thinking and making good passes without thinking and everything else without thinking. It’s like walking, when you walk your not thinking how your gonna move your foot to walk your no thinking of that at all same goes with Messi’s dribbling and how Messi makes fast decisions it’s flow state he doesn’t think of it it’s natural search a video on KZbin if you want to be in flow state in a game.

You can improve dribbling but if you don't have the combination of a lot of abilities when you are born you will have a harder time. There are guys who van improve quicker than others and there are guys that can improve to unreachable levels for others. It's not just hard work. Guys like Taarabt or Ben Arfa were not hard workers but they had great dribbling. A big guy like Süle or Haaland will never dribble like them. They have longer strides and lower step frequency when they are sprinting and they can't change directions quickly or slow down easily because of this plus the bodyweight and worse balance because of height makes it all worse. Ibrahimovic was an exception but he was extremely smart and even then he wasn't the greatest dribbler. But don't believe that Haaland or Süle couldn't dribble amateurs. They can dribble and they can dribble better than most of footballers but they have roles in their teams and they are not permitted to do certain things by the manager. There is less space and time especially in the central areas in a top 5 league than you can imagine. They can't risk to lose frequently the ball or central defender dribbles close to their goal without proper backup. Still don't think that Haaland or Süle couldn't dribble alone your friends team and even the goalkeeper. However, their dribbling is not close to Messi or Ronaldinho level and that's a problem for their manager and they have to play roles that emphasize their real strength at that level. So most professional footballers can dribble they just don't do it often in first divison games but the ability for dribbling is a combination abilities and potential that pretty unique so to be considered as a great dribbler you need to have a lot of natural dribbling talent that is rooted in your genetics.

Not only, sometimes Messi uses body feints when defenders are jockeying or not coming towards him but apart from that, then yes, most of the time when Messi’s versing a defender he will be proactive and reactive. What that means is that he will do something to get a response from the defender (example: he could cut left to make the defender go to the left to block him from going past the defender but now that Messi has cut left the defenders momentum is going left) now that’s the response the defender going left but then Messi will be reactive by responding to that situation cutting right using the defenders momentum to his advantage beating the defender. What im saying is that Messi will be proactive by trying to get a movement from the defender so then He can be reactive by reacting to that movement accordingly ultimately beating the defender. Messi is creating his own situation so that he can respond to that situation.

Ronaldo Nazario says the same as do some other's I'm too lazy to list. If most of the actual greats like this refer to Messi ever so frequently as an alien and a god, literally also worship him also then da fuçk is your problem with his fans doing the same? Before Messi was called a god there was Maradona who was called a god and before him there was Pele. You simply just want to complain about a non-issue because it somehow is wrong to praise the most accomplished football player in history? "He's just a footballer" what a salty statement, bring me the other just footballers who have achieved like he has, so weird.

It's just a midfielder mistake, he stopped running after Messi passed him. Just run behind Messi and take the spot in the defense when Messi dribbles against the defender you exposed. Watch Modric or Sabitzer play, they often drop below the back line.

"It's just a midfielder mistake". You're quite amazing icl, random football tacticians on the Internet never cease to amuse. Dribbling involves forcing someone into making a mistake or taking advantage of a mistake, you can't be this salty. Also funny you mention Modric like Mess I hasn't split him and Casemiro apart many times in Madrid, of course that was all due to midfielder mistake. How miserable.

But that's exactly WHY he's so good at dribbling! He gets a lot of game practice and has been allowed to in the Argentinian youth system! Too much space, they run to where ever the ball goes 😅 If Maradona / Pele play against Ramos & Pepe, they will die or injured like Kaka. Old football is garbage. Take your bad tv and nostalgia bullshit somewhere else 😂 Even total football hasn't been found back then.
