I'm a medical illustrator, so I feel compelled to point out a few of the many mistakes in this. The most glaring, as someone else pointed out, is the illustration of a skin cube (containing millions of cells) under skin cell. Also, many microscopic structures, such as "human cell" (oddly vague term), paramecium and amoeba are right next to "woman egg" ("human" adjective needed here), even though a human egg is about the size of a grain of sand.

If we do find alien lifeforms in the solar system like in Titan, Europa and Mars, the microorganism there will likely look somewhat familiar to what we have on Earth. Maybe the ones in Titan will be silicon-based. Imagine seeing a bacteria that has crystal spikes!

@TheNoiseySpectator2 жыл бұрын
@@Imperialistic82 "Likely look somewhat familiar"? No! Any life form that is non-terrestrial would by definition come from a different environment and lack any common ancestry with any kind of Earth life! So, even the two most different forms of life on Earth would be _more alike_ than any non-terrestrial life form! 🙄 And any life form from another solar system would be even more different. At least, that is my point of view. Still, I am sure that if we do ever encounter extraterrestrial life, we will at first have trouble even _recognizing_ that it is living.
@epicspacetroll13992 жыл бұрын
@@meloworld9289 I think it's reasonable to expect life to at least be very rare, considering that so far we have not found evidence for extraterrestrial life, that planets with environments similar to Earth so far *appear* to be rare, and that even the simplest cells today are quite complex. However, we only have extremely vague ideas (scientifically) on how life got started on Earth in the first place, and we have only dipped the tiniest bit of our pinky toe into the proverbial ocean of space exploration. Therefore, attempting to make any kind of assertions on whether there is extraterrestrial life or what the precise odds were of life arising on Earth is pointless. Where did you get that number anyways?
@meloworld92892 жыл бұрын
@@epicspacetroll1399 In fact the problem is not the conditions that allow the existence of life, but the fact that even with all the conditions together life is infinitely improbable of the order of 1/E.80 000 or 1/E .140 000. If God does not exist then the possibility of the existence of any form of life in the known universe is almost impossible. Suaf if the world extends beyond our visible universe, it would change everything.

Very beautiful. Now tell me, whats the difference between Saccharomyces cerevisiae and bakers yeast?
@geraldfrost47102 жыл бұрын
Different types of yeast. You wouldn't go hunting with a chihuahua, even though it's a dog. Baker's yeast is fast acting and puts out lots of CO2. Brewer's yeast is slower and produces alcohol. Brewer's yeast also has a high tolerance for the alcohol it produces, and can live where the alcohol alone would kill bread yeast. Finally, for some reason, wine and beer yeast settles when it dies (from lack of sugar), and the brew clarifies. Baker's yeast stays in suspension, which for bread is fine. Neither of these are the "yeast infection" fungus. They're all different, like dogs.
