Are the Knicks now the favorite for the 2025 championship?

I think the Knicks are definitely a title contender,if the center position is tight and if Julius Randle takes the same approach as this past season with the bullyball first and then going to the midrange and the three ball,most definitely

The NYK have put themselves in a place where not only will they compete next year, but for years to come. These guys are all mostly in their mid-20's, just hitting their primes. Thibs must be giddy with the team he is being handed. The only thing that will slow them down is getting everyone paid and staying out of the aprons if possible.

Young man, your take is the best and most optimistic take I've heard thus far. I've heard too much pessimism and people talking about the weaknesses rather than seeing the strengths. Everyone is talking if they could've, would've or should've as if they're making decisions. But we've all been saying that we want Mikal Bridges. Now that we have him it's not enough and we're not there yet, we need to do more, can't sign Hartenstein, need to trade Julius and Robinson. Thanks for the update and the optimism. Will subscribe. That's a promise. Keep up the good work.

Ppl are dumb to say this is an overpay. What were the Knicks to do with their picks if not get exactly the player they want, who fits perfectly with this team and its chemistry, and who's a hell of a shooter and defender. The Knicks are trying to win now and if things don't work out over the next few years, all of their guys are young and will still have value if they decide to blow it up. The Knicks have a damned good team. Barring injuries, I see them as the only eastern team to challenge Boston. This team is definitely a top contender.

With both Bridges and OG Anunoby,they not only,guard the wings,they can switch on to bigs and to point guards at a high level and as far as the picks,Leon Rose is a master at acquiring draft picks,he already started doing that in this draft. Now,the only downside is they may lose Hartenstein to a team that can pay him more money,but,they still have Mitchell Robinson and I know he's been injury prone these last few seasons,but if I Hartenstein leaves,the Knicks can still go out get a decent center,who can at,least give the Knicks decent rim protection and rebound the ball or they can give Jericho Sims a shot and see if he can take that next step and keep Precious Achiuwa to help reduce Mitchell Robinson minutes,reducing the possibility of him getting injured. Either way,the Knicks are going to be problem. I know people like bringing in a big name star,but,OG showed us,how huge fit can be for a team as he took the Knicks to another level,before the injuries and I think Mikal Bridges can make a big impact,because,of the tremendous fit. We'll see what happens

Great insight on Mikal's game, I agree he should thrive on the Knicks where he doesn't have to carry an offense and can play off the ball and focus more on defense. But also a luxury to have a guy capable of generating offense when they need it. Boston seems to still have the edge on paper but the Knicks may have some intangibles on their side like their deep bench and ability to crash the boards.

One of the main things you have to look at is the contract itself, its super team friendly and gives the Knicks the flexibility to go give OG his money even after trading for Bridges. You can look at a guy like PG who makes 30+ million and is in his mid 30s which would hard cap you quickly in the new CBA. You get Bridges right at the start of his prime and continue to add to the young core. NM the chemistry he brings and defense, Knicks nailed it.

So now we can see what Thibs can actually do. He is a great NBA coach, good defensive mind, but imo he is an overrated HEAD COACH. He doesn't manage his players well and wears them down before the playoffs starts and makes them susceptible to injuries in the long term. So if he can't win with this stacked lineup, he needs to go or at best, he should be talked about being on the Hot seat. I am not a huge Thibs fan. He is better than most, but not as good as the best, like most everyone seems to feel he is.
@joarby2 ай бұрын
If he thinks he’s a star then he will fail. Brunson has to be the leader and the go to at all times. The ball will be in his hands to decide. As for Randle, he thought he was the star and the result was they couldn’t win. He was one of the four players I said for three yrs that should be traded or else can never win. Last yrs they started to win and one of the reason was 3 of the 4 players I mentioned were traded and Randle wasn’t playing. They should’ve traded him to keep Hartenstein but they screwed that up. When u think u are the star…u don’t play defense and guess what? Defense wins!!!

What did the Knicks trade away? Draft picks. What’s the point of draft picks? To build a better team. Why do you want to build a better team? To win a championship. What are the Knicks closer to now than if they kept those draft picks? A championship. It still blows my mind that people do not understand the concept of winning now.

You’ll never beat the Celtics making mistakes, that’s why most teams can’t beat the Celtics. They play smart basketball. Do these 4 things and you will beat the Celtics.

This reminds me of when the pistons got rip Hamilton , people were saying he not a super star, he can’t get to the rim, but he fit right in and his midrange was huge for that offense.. bridges will have that same impact .With a healthy Randle and healthy Robinson coming back is bigger than having hartenstien back.. Yes I want hartenstien but Randle and Robinson together can make up for his lost.. with randle, you have another ball handler and a assist player that can make up for the passing that I hart gave you, and Mitch will do all the dirty work but even better.. Mitch (when healthy) is a better all round defender than he is, in my option I hart got exposed in that pacers series, they put siakam in pick and roll and ran it on us because of his lack of mobility, they would not be able to do that with Mitch , as he is a lot more agile..I hart is great defending bigs that wanna dominate down low, but that pick and roll Indian ran on him made him look clueless on defense
