I think that's a cool way to explain what is happening this year. Conley and Gobert statistically are the best duo in the NBA, and then you have a star like Donovan to raise their ceiling. It's like having a winning hand, lets say 3 kings, and then having an Ace to beat out a like hand. Actually that might be a bad analogy because Donovan does more than that.

Mike Conley sure is more comfortable this season than last season, last season is more of finding where he fit in the rotation and jelling with the team after he was traded..every player and even employees went that phase where you want to find if you are welcome and if you are really needed.

I think Boston, Golden State, Milwaukee have had 4 all stars and maybe several other teams in recent memory have had 3-4 all stars as well. I think a case for a third all star can be made. If it were up to me... you have to have Conley and Clarkston in that type of discussion. I’d even throw ONeill in the mix as a Two Star Draymond Green option.

Always an under rated player and wonderful Samaritan. The transition challenge from being a pivotal player for one team for ten years to a very different Jazz system might have been very much under estimated.

Conley and Gobert play well together because Conley played with Gasol for years and Gasol was one of the best pick and roll players in the league. Although Gobert cant step out and shoot the 3.. he is more explosive at the rim.

Yep! Let's hope he recovers quickly from this hamstring injury and stays healthy. The raw stats don't do him justice. If you watch the games it's clear he's making a massive impact. Makes me appreciate RAPTOR more.

Even tho he has the best off the box score stats, he has low box score stats so he will not even get mentioned. 17 pts and 6 ast a game won't do it. The point is thats elite in the Jazz system and Quins scheme, but not in the NBA. It might be shocking but for years Joe Ingles has been a top 5 SF but just not in the box score. He never gets mentioned because the box score doesn't reflect what he does or what he could do on a different team. But Jazz fans know just how damn good he is and how valuable of a player he is to do that in this system. Also why Donovan gets portrayed as really good even tho everyone else says oh he just scores. 6 asts in the Jazz system is 10 asts everywhere else. Ricky avg over 10 his whole career and came to Utah avg 6. Then goes to Phoenix and avg over 10 again. These broadcasters don't look at what people do in the systems. They only look at James Harden and his 80% usage rate and numbers. They don't think Donovan would avg 30+ and 10 ast a game if he played like Harden smh

If he continues to lead the league in +/- then he’ll get picked by coaches to be a West reserve. Everyone knows he’s never been an All-Star and the coaches will reward him for his play this season.

Donovan Mitchell is a freakish athlete the Jazz have never seen although there are comparisons to Griffith. But Conley is really the closest player to a highly coveted throw back system player like Stockton Utahns missed.
