Man, I totally relate to the panic attacks and anxiety- in 2008, after 5 deployments, i had my first panic attack and i had no idea what it was. It was debilitating.... i became a contractor and experienced the at-will employment esp now being retired from the reserves, and I am not down with working for others. I need to work for myself. A big scare is recently the gov ran out of money and cyber com couldn't pay our contract. Luckily, my company floated us until Congress authorized more money, but that is scary- nothing is secure. That was a clear sign I need out and do my own thing.

This is a great interview and, again, resonating with the stories- paperwork is a pain, but it is the biggest screeners of the worthy and unworthy. I was a Sr. Warrant Officer and was always asked to write letters of recommendations that were required for the application packet of prospective Warrant candidates- I looked through several things before deciding whether or not to put my name on a recommendation and one of those things was an interview and seeing how far along in the paperwork/packet process the NCO was- the paperwork alone screened out so many people. If that is too hard, in my opinion, then that's the first sign you're not ready for the next level.
