Have you ever wondered what makes MOSFETs different from other transistors? In this video the internal world of MOSFETs or metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors is explored. Discover how they operate and how they differ from current-driven transistors in design and function. An explanation of how N-Type and P-Type semiconductor are created using doping is also included.

Disclaimer - At 3:08 the voiceover states “reverse current to flow uncontrolled from the source to the drain” which does not agree with the direction of the arrows on the video. If the arrows were reversed the graphics would agree with the voiceover, making the video technically correct.

Yeah, I didn't understand any of that. I'm a caveman. I can build a car from a pile of parts, but electronics are a different language to me. Glad there are people who are good with technology. I'll build your car, your house, whatever. You can take care of the technology. And that's what keeps the world moving.

@@maxxfleebo you have to remember what was going on at the time. We were remembering things by making tiny little magnets and flipping their polarity with a pulse of electricity to store a single bit and I was a kid when they were giving those memory core systems away on the back inside cover of byte magazine if I would have grabbed one and saved it I'm sure it's worth a fortune now. So you have different companies developing new technologies to implement Logic on this is what happened before there were microcomputers you just had chips that form a single decision. It's interesting that the Solid State power switches are still being adopted by electric skateboards but that Star Wars weapon that was built by one of the maker channels tried unsuccessfully to go solid state it is about 20000 Watts so they were not crazy thinking they could do it. For some time a I has been laying out things on integrated circuits. I think this video tried to cover multiple subjects at the same time. The main thing that is getting in people's comprehension way is the transition of the material from being conductive to not being conductive or the difference between electrically conductive material and those that are not normally conductive. If you don't understand what makes a conductor versus a non conductor this video is not the place to learn that.

That was a lot of info in a short segment. And I thought it just loaded and discharged when needed? As the other person posted we could use more in-depth segments like this one.

@@monkeybiscuits78 you have to understand how regular transistors work that's the point this video distinguishes the operation of mosfets from the transistors that you are assumed to be familiar with. They will correct me if I'm wrong.

Lightly doped p-type under the gate became n-type (excess electron). This is why it is called n-channel transistor.

This is what makes car amps. Get loud or sound good?
@Bassotronics
@Bassotronics 4 жыл бұрын
Car amps depends on the make and model. Some alternators put out more amps than others. But if the amps are “loud”, then there is a problem with the alternator although you can’t really hear electricity through a cable unless it’s really high voltage. If it sounds good, it will be silent.

ALWAYS look for the shortest videos when looking for scientific explanations. if it takes someone longer than 5 minutes to explain something then that means they dont understand it.

You're saying that's what she said? I think the animation was done before the script was read right? Robin Williams got to read his Alliance and then they animate it around his performance I think that was the sequence. Have you heard that he had a progressive disease unlike some forms of Parkinson despite their inclusion as terminal. I don't think this subject matter is that difficult it's just that it's not presented. Some of the theories have been false of course it's too bad that those that struggled with them for their falsity are unlikely to find out.
