mRNA vaccines have to potential to end the COVID19 pandemic. How do they work? Are they safe? And how could they've been developed so quickly?
The main idea of mRNA vaccines is to trick our bodies to produce part of a virus. This kickstarts our immune response, without getting us sick. All that's needed is a part of the virus's DNA or RNA, packaged into mRNA. Cool!
(mRNA is the technology behind the vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna & CureVac)

We need to keep things in perspective. About 54 million covid vaccine doses have been given worldwide. We would all hope that no one experiences any side effects from the vaccine. I suggest the incidence of serious side effects is rare! It is very easy to highlight cases and blow things totally out of proportion. Which is greater: Getting a severe side effect or getting covid (which has known long-term side effects) and passing it on to others? What is your solution to getting out of the pandemic?

It's symptoms, but not full blown sickness (most times). Your body is producing active virus DNA, so when your cells replicate it, you might experience symptoms of the virus before your body can shut it down. And by the next day, you're usually a-okay again.

@@slooob23 I understand your point of view. Though I must highlight that this 'theoretical' mechanism has been well studied for decades, meanwhile the deaths (if any) from this category of vaccines are extremely rare. @@kenn3758 to my knowledge this is the first RNA vaccine ever produced, in that regard how can we have high confidence in it until a suitable period of time and the associated monitoring is complete? We also don't know how long it is effective for, corona viruses being notoriously difficult for lasting immune response. If the vaccine is only effective for a few months the risk profile becomes rather more of an issue.

@@Chad_Max I recently watched a talk given by a biochemist who worked at Pfizer for 10 years. He said that there no attenuation (that he was aware of) of the vaccine's effect, which is to cause cells (which cells?) to produce the spike protein. Once you're injected, your body will be producing those spike proteins indefinitely. And since they're so small, they are able to penetrate the blood brain barrier. This leads to clotting (strokes) and inflammation elsewhere in the body. Your body will constantly be fighting to eliminate them and it likely won't be able to catch them all. They're going to build up and we're going to see what the long term effects of that are. It's probably not going to be pretty.

Except he didn't mention the following: 1. The purpose of the research Dr. Fauci funded was to engineer the spike protein to be EXTREMELY toxic. So the spike protein our bodies manufacture are just as toxic as the spike protein on the virus, and they are causing major problems. 2. It's the spike protein that is mutating to create the new variants, which is why these vaxes don't provide lasting immunity ---- after the spike protein mutates, our immune system no longer recognizes the spike virus. Which is why dead antigen vaccines are so superior --- because we develop immune recognition to all 32 viral proteins, so when the spike protein mutates we can still recognize the rest of the virus.

Well if you google how Russian, most of Chinese and also Astrazeneca/Cambridge vaccines are made you will realize they are not traditional at al :) They all use an adenoviral vectors to achieve basicially the same what the mRNA vaccines are doing in this video, but with some extra steps (DNA to mRNA transcription) . This vaccines are basically give you an infection with genetically engineered adenovirus (usually in nature this virus is responsible for the common cold), that unable to replicate because of deletion of many important genes in it, they just use this virus to deliver genetic information to the cells of your body, so they can produce some sars-cov-2 spike proteins and trigger the immune system. Still not sure which technology is better though, they all have pros and cons.

great video. I have two questions: 1.) So if your cells are constantly creating the Spikes from the virus, and your immune system is constantly destroying the spikes, does that mean that your immune system is constantly in fight response? 2.) So if eventually your immune system destroys the Spike RNA in your cell, does that mean your immune system attacks your cells to get to the Spike RNA? How does your immune system destroy the spike RNA in your cell l if it is encoded into your cell?

1) Once your B cells have the memory of the spike and the mRNA they quickly isolate and destroy the afflicted cells and remove the alien material. 2) Once isolated by the body, the cells making spikes are injected with enzymes that cause them to undergo self destruction. This is commonly how your body fights and gets over the Cold and the Flu.

Thank you body from Iran. In Iran Moderna and Pfizer are banned! Most people just cheer but little number of them question! The mRNA gets destroyed inside the cell after the cell produces the spike protein.(that's generally how it works with messenger RNAs) "Which cell types end up manufacturing the spike proteins?" Exactly! And they don't seem like talking about it without having their videos and articles removed or censored or not being ordered in google search results! Disgusting! "Do they display this spike protein on their surface, or do they excrete the protein?" Exactly! According to the scientific and official articles I have read, they appear on the surface of the mRNA-targeted cells. This means those cells can be targeted by any type of viruses that use that specific spike protein to inject its genome to the cell for mass production. Like a channel under the walls of city that can be abused by any enemy who knows that channel. From 5:52 of this video it expresses as if the spike proteins are exerted from the cell!!

I believe the mRNA has a short life-span and can only produce a finite amount of spike protein before it dies. The cell that hosted the mRNA will die when attacked by killer T cells that find the spike protein on the surface of the host cell. That's because the killer T cell thinks the host cell is an intruder (virus).
@Tinky1rs
@Tinky1rs 2 жыл бұрын
Mick is correct, but I'd like to respond with another question to keep you thinking. Most cells in your body make proteins all the time. They do that based on the DNA in their nucleus. To make a protein, they need to send an mRNA copy of that code to the protein factory (ribosome) outside the nucleus. So my question: if all proteins in your body are made this way: where do all those mRNAs go? The answer is there are multiple ways to destroy mRNA after it has done its job. RNases (enzymes that cut them up), ones that untag them for ribosomal pick-up, others that tag them for destruction. This usually happens rapdly, so that the building blocks can be reused for new mRNAs.
@mickdonedee1

yep that exactly happens. however, worse happens when one is normally infected: with the vaccine, it is controlled infection of cells. with normal catching of virus, one would have their cells hijacked unchecked, and would be self-attacked at a larger scale. its not really such a "nifty little factoid to leave out" since it is just not different from how traditional vaccines handle this.
