I used to own a BMW and remember going to the dealer and expecting to pay many hundreds of dollars and up over a thousand for regular routine maintenance. That was in my 20s and was living the average middle class “normal person” life with lots of debt (car, mortgage, credit cards, etc.) During the last recession of 2008 me and my wife were impacted badly and almost lost our home because debt piled up too much. We got serious and turned our lives around. For many years we didn’t buy any cars we couldn’t afford (no leasing and financing allowed). It turned out well in the end and going debt free was the solution. These days we prefer to daily drive just “regular” non luxury cars. I bought 2 Chevrolet Bolt EVs (paid cash) 3 years ago and I pay about $65CAD every 6 months for routine maintenance. The most I’ll spend is just over $200 if brakes need “servicing” which involves cleaning them out. I had that done once so far for both cars. I also own an Infiniti QX80 which is still hanging around and garaged. I just drive that during the summer time. The maintenance costs for that are consistent with cars of that type which is okay too. Good luck and stay safe in 2021!

@@MSH3423 depends on the Mercedes-Benz model. The prepaid service for my S class was only $1299 for 3 services (2 A service and one B). The new price is $1899! I read people who do not service their cars at dealers. For MB, yes you pay but they bring the car to the same level as a new car so you don’t have issues. Others buy a used car that was not dealer serviced and find so many problems. Buy what you can afford!! I sell my cars to friends and neighbours as they see how I look after my cars. And if it were not in great condition, I would not sell to people I know. I just had my S class coupé coated with ceramic. It is in obsidian black and although it is hand washed weekly at the detailing shop, it has some swirl marks.
