Armen Keteyian, author of "The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football Boosters," talks about corruption in NCAA football with the NewsHour's Jeffrey Brown. In the book, Keteyian sought to find out what the "going rate" was for an elite recruit, meaning "how much a top-tier program would be willing to pay, under the table, to get a five-star recruit to come to their university."
In the case of Ricky Seals-Jones, now a wide receiver for Texas A&M, Keteyian learned through interviews that the "going rate" looked something like $300,000, the use of a luxury box, eight season tickets, $1,000 a month for the athlete and $500 a month for the family.
