girls Guangzhou is so much better base for traveling than S Korea. it'a big transport hub for destinations in SE Asia and Australia. Guangzhou with Pearl river delta has so much more to offer with HK Shenzhen en and Macau and rest of China

Hi guys just saw your video's now😢...good and straight to the point content😊. But i was wondering can i go with my child to teach in south korea? he is currently in grade 2, but my worry is...will he be able to find an affordable english ONLY speaking school that i would be able to afford since i will also be teaching as a foreigner? Can you also please recommend those school where i can take my child to
@2brokegirlies27 күн бұрын
Hi! ☺️ Unfortunately we’re not sure of any English-only speaking schools in South Korea. It may help to connect with some recruiters and ask them about English schools for your son and which would be most suitable. They would probably have the best knowledge around that. Regarding our Hagwon, it was more like a training centre to provide students with additional English classes, so your son would most likely need to find a normal school. Sorry that we couldn’t help you with this! But yes of course, if you’re able to find an English-only speaking school then you could take him with ☺️

Love you guys videos. So far I'm thinking of China, Taiwan or HK. Have you heard anything about Monkey Tree in HK? Their starting salary is 23,000 HK if you have a degree and TEFL. Did you guys consider HK (or Taiwan) at all? I kinda felt, re: what you said about having experience, doing a year there in HK with that salary might be better, then looking at China with the year of experience. Really enjoying the videos, keep them coming. Love your accents.
@2brokegirliesАй бұрын
@@FrankCastleTIG Thank you! Glad you enjoy the accents 🤭 we did some research into Taiwan and Hong Kong but felt that China had the most potential for saving because of the lower cost of living. Also, China is a huge and beautiful country that we’d love to explore so those are the main reasons for choosing China. Hong Kong is an amazing place though and we’d love to visit every weekend if we could, but it’s very expensive. We know some people who currently teach English in Hong Kong and love it! And yes, working there for a year and then coming over to China with a year’s experience would be a great plan. We did that too, except we taught in South Korea ☺️

As a Hong Kong retired civil servant, I honestly say that HK$23,000 is not enough for living as an expatriate teacher. The rent is about $15000 for an apartment in 300 square feet, food price is three times of China. Lastly, but not the last, the social atmosphere in China is more relax in Mainland China.
@FrankCastleTIG12 күн бұрын
@waisanyuen722 thanks so much for your input. Yeah, I figured I'd only be able to rent a room there if I wanted to live in a decent place. Where would you recommend in the mainland?
@waisanyuen72211 күн бұрын
@ The 7 cities in Bay area of Guangdong Province where are just beside Hong Kong within 90 minutes traffic time for high speed train or road. Rent is only 5 to 30% and living cost is only 30% in compared with Hong Kong. On the other hand, there are great supply of local or foreign English teacher in Hong Kong and deceasing demand for low birth rate and migration. Actually, Hong Kong people enjoy crossing border for shopping, travel, eating..... in Shenzhen even they have only 4 hours spare time. I believe you would enjoy life in Hong Kong, but you would stay in China if you have experienced mainland China.

Can you plz make a video on how you applied for china and if they accept non native teachers with high qualifications, I have a 4 years linguistics degree, a tefl and a celta but i had just graduated i have zero experience. Is there a chance i can work with middle/high school students and how to apply and make them choose me? Absolutely love your videos, came from tiktok ❤
@2brokegirlies3 ай бұрын
@@RayHeart-uj6qt thank you for your support! We’ve already posted a video on our KZbin channel called “How to apply to become an ESL teacher” and we go through the process step-by-step! Have a watch if you haven’t yet already and then let me know if you have any more questions! You definitely can get a job with your qualifications even with zero experience. It’s a bit more tricky for high school, middle school will be easier to find jobs. But you never know! Worth applying to both ☺️

In South Korea 학원s are not required to offer you flights or reimbursements on flights. It is all contractual and it is up to the 원장님 to decide what he/she is willing to offer. Some offer two-way flights, others offer a single one-way flight and some offer none. Many schools also would not pay for a flight if you sign a contract with a different school once you leave the first school.
