This would be exceedingly painful, bordering on impossible, unfortunately. I had to rng manip in some cases to get viable geo drop/launch patterns, as sometimes the random spread of geo and random timing of the gathering 'flies' creates cases where there is no viable timeline to dodge the geo, even when you have the luxury of exploring multiple timelines. This was especially true early game prior to having dash. In those cases I had to go back and change a nail input to manipulate rng and roll a new set of timelines that were feasible. I could see human players pulling it off for a single room, though, with enough attempts. Aspid arena might be a fun one to try.

@@Irisverse For the TAS, the game code was modified to just give and force equip gathering swarm from the beginning of the game. For a human version, you'd probably want to do the same, though I wouldn't recommend it. (:

​​@@jarlyk what if you route it in such a way geo drops are minimized though you mentioned aspid arena geo dodge might be humanly doable, so you could start off the run by doing that and getting the hardest trick out of the way. after that you lure each false knight arena enemy right next to the screen transition, kill them and immediately leave so the geo goes away. grab fireball, kill greenpath baldur and immediately savequit, fireball skip to fungal wastes and grab claw. now you can go back to greenpath to get to hornet while avoiding moss knight. from here the game opens up a ton so ill just go over some problematic spots i can think of: beast den: we can fight hornet 2 and get shade cloak to get through the devouts without killing them lever arenas before watcher knights: easily skipable via 1.2.2.1 lever skip teachers archives: crystal peaks is locked behing soul sanctum, which is locked behing a small arena against a soul twister. luckily we can get tear instead. you dont have soul twister to help you out with the skips but you can get sharp shadow instead. you also need dash master and wings, which should be doable maybe im missing some other spot, but it doesnt seem that far fetched to me besides the initial geo dodge. alternatively if aspid arena is too hard you could do an itemless shade skip to fog canyon and then do the dodges on moss knight. after that the route would be similar besides not having fireball yet

I think I did the math for a maximum geo run once, and to farm 9,999,999 geo, the most the game lets you have. in the fastest way I could think of being the colosseum, would take like 3 months of straight grinding

Skurry did a speedrun of a challenge run for killing all possible NPC's. This requires you to get 36,000 geo for all unbreakable charms. The meta for collecting geo was not the Colosseum, but fighting the small enemies in Kingdom's Edge. I think Skurry got 36,000 geo in around 1:30 hour. With this rate, it will take around 416 hours or 17.3 days to get 10M geo.

​@@or3213 Skurry farmed Geo with the Colosseum in the Genocide% run, they fought the small hoppers in the All Unbreakable charms speedrun. Colo 2 is actually meta, but only if you have a lot of upgrades. That would've taken some time in Skurry's All Unbreakable charms run, but the cost is negligible if you're gonna grind geo for 400 hours, and in the Genocide run Skurry already had a ton of upgrades from Nailsmith. I think Skurry also mentioned at some point that tram pass fluke carver spawns could theoretically outspeed hoppers, but would be a lot mechnically harder to pull off.

I once had Millibelle the Thief reappear at the hot spring, giving geo once again. If it's an intended mechanic or unfixed bug, it may be a viable farm option.

@@musaran2 If you give Millibelle 2550+ Geo she will then leave and go to the Pleasure House where you can knock her around to get x1.5 of the Geo she had in her bank when she leaves, the most you can get from this is 6843 Geo and you can only do it once per Save.

7 minutes in and it just hit me that a no geo run is the same principle as a no coins run of any Mario game. I've watched a lot of videos on that subject and I find it super interesting. This adds another layer to my appreciation of no geo recaps, because the layouts of the videos are so different. In those videos, they go level by level, but you can't do that in HK, lol.

at 14:06 you mention having to get "Tram Pass" in the dark. The route to Tram pass has only one small dark room, the one with the lever to open the gate to the tram. Galien's room isn't dark either, though you have to pass through the dark to get to his room.

You don't need to be better than anyone. If you really want to speedrun, just do it! There are hundreds of Hollow Knight speedrunners, some are better, some are worse, but they all speedrun and improve themselves. Whether it's because they want to compete with other runners, or because they want to achieve a specific goal, or simply because they have fun with it!

It's been removed from the game at a certain point. However, most Hollow Knight speedruns use an earlier version of the game, so you will see this crack in a lot of speedruns, even if it's not in the current patch.

Zero geo has percent but you more in the geo needed to unlock everything when you boot up meaning you do everything possible but can't die or collect any Additional geo. Call it pocket change percent.
