I took my 2nd injection of Wegovy last night which is a Monday. So glad to see you say that you thought the effects were possibly wearing off before your next injection. So, first injection on Monday. Saturday came and I was experiencing some hunger in the evening. Sunday morning woke up with a growling stomach. By Sunday evening I felt like I wanted to eat everything but nothing I ate satisfied me. This morning, Tuesday, I have lost 0 pounds in one week. I'm happy that I didn't gain any; to me that is a win. It is what it is and I will keep plugging away.

Most people say you shouldn't expect to lose during the loading doses. I had (and still have) a TON of weight to lose and wasn't doing anything prior to the shot to manage my weight. I also just recently started weighing daily and comparing my weekly averages. With my losses slowing down, it really helped my mental state. ❤️

I am loving your company on here. I am over 50 and it's wonderful to see a real person sharing from the heart❤. I just started Saxenda as Wegovy is not yet approved by the UK National Health service for weight loss yet. I am 1 week on Saxenda and calorie control and lost 5lb so really interested to follow you. Love the shopping and cooking too. Hope all is going well for you.

Unfortunately no one can really answer that for you. I've been really fortunate in that I've been able to eat pretty much anything in moderation. (I also post videos of my diet if you haven't seen them) It's really trial and error. But my advice is not to try to follow a diet that you can't follow for the rest of your life. Use the time on Wegovy to adapt to a new way of eating that is sustainable. 💜

Welcome to the channel, Sadie. The best advice I can give is to find a way of eating that is sustainable for you and stick to it. It will be slower, but if this is truly a lifestyle change, you can't learn new habits from something overly strict that you can't hope to maintain for the long haul. I hope you enjoy the channel. Can't wait to hear about your success!! 🥰❤️

I am really glad you are doing this. I am 54 and I just started Wegovy seven weeks ago. I was looking to see what other people are doing. I am glad I found you. I have been over weight all of my life and I have lost significant amounts weight (70+ pounds) at different points in my life but I have never had anything stick. My doctor suggested this and I am hoping that this is what finally sticks for me. I hope you find success too and I am looking forward to following your journey.

@@mindypweightloss So far it is going well! I lost 11 in 7 weeks. Not a ton of weight but I am happy that this is slow and steady. I have more GI issues than others but I am learning to manage things. Luckily there are meds for things like gas and diarrhea and constipation. I find it is cyclical so if I stay on top of my remedies then the symptoms aren't too bad. The hardest part of the journey for me was just getting out of my own head. I am a very successful person in life and my weight has always made me feel like a failure. What Wegovy has really taught me is that I am not a failure; my body is insulin resistant. I am not stupid or lazy or any of the things people would like to think I am because I am fat. (I started at 251.6 lbs) When I diet regularly I am always starving and I feel like I am punishing myself. It did a number on my psyche. Now I don't feel that way. I realize now I was trying to fight against my body in order to make it behave how I wanted it to and it was never going to do that. Knowing that, and that there may be a solution makes me feel a lot better. Also, now I know what "normal" people feel like when eating and with food. I get full fast; I don't think about it between meals. I feel more normal. (I hate that word but I don't know what else to use) Sorry for the TLDR. Bottom-line I think this will work for me long term.

@@stacyreid2380 I know exactly how you feel. I've been able to lose weight in the past but without fail I would give up because I felt deprived and hungry ALL the time. Wegovy has been a game changer. So sorry to hear about the GI issues... I hope it gets better for you. 💜

Love your video. I am thinking about sharing my journey mainly for myself and for accountability. I am on my 5th injection and it .5 I didn’t do very well with .25 in my opinion. I was down 2.7lbs but then Easter came and my daughter was home from college and I just feel like I went down hill. I have not been on the scale for two weeks because I’m scared to see the numbers. This week I am back on track so far and the dosage is higher so I am working towards this being a good month. I too agree that towards the end of the week I notice the hunger comes a bit stronger. I sometimes wish I would have started on a Friday or Saturday so I can have better strength on the weekends

Hey Melissa, Sharing my journey has been a labor of love. It's been a ton of work, but it has also been a huge blessing. Consistency is the only thing that will see you through. Having a couple weeks here and there to give yourself a break is fine as long as you get right back on again. Changing my mindset to "long haul" thinking has been the most difficult part of this journey. Realizing what "lifestyle change" really means... learning how I will eat for the rest of my life instead of how I need to eat "just to get the weight off." Wishing you the best with whatever you decide to do. ❤️

Hi Mindy - I’m watching your old videos. Wow - you really have change and yo6 can see the weight loss! Congrats! I decided to watch the old videos to see how you got your Wegovy coupon. Definitely worried and trying to figure out what to do when Mounjaro coupon no longer works which will probably be soon. Did your insurance cover weight loss meds or was the coupon just different last year? Thanks
@mindypweightloss Жыл бұрын
Hey Sue, I go back and look at those videos from time to time as well to remind myself how far I've come. It's crazy because I really didn't see myself like that (when I was at my heaviest). 😱 All coupons go through changes as the drugs becomes more popular. In the beginning they offer crazy discounts to get people to try them and hopefully get insurance to cover once they see a track record of success. So, when Wegovy came out last year in June they had the same $25 coupon that Mounjaro started with for only 6 refills instead of 12. Just like Mounjaro recently changed theirs in November to only be a $500 discount, Wegovy changed theirs in January of 2022 to only cover a $500 discount as well. Unfortunately Wegovy and Ozempic both are still having MAJOR supply issues so they aren't really a very viable option yet (in addition to insurance coverage which is an issue for most people). I have a video on my channel that is a Q&A for Semaglutide compounds... which is the route I plan to go if and when the coupon stops working for me. 💜

Why do you feel the need to put a prong collar on that sweet dog?
@mindypweightloss Жыл бұрын
Hey Beth, I use a prong collar on my sweet dog because I love him. The fact that you phrased the question that way shows how little you know about how they work. They are hinged so that they apply completely even pressure all the way around the throat if he pulls instead of all the pressure being on his trachea like a traditional cloth collar. When you have a high prey drive hunting breed, any time he sees a little creature that sets off his prey drive, he has the potential to lunge. If that were to happen with a traditional cloth collar, he could seriously harm himself (there have been actual cases of perforated trachea from "humane" regular collars. We've tried harnesses, and they just make him pull even more (these dogs are also used for pulling). The other way these prong Collars work is by speaking to their instincts... have you ever seen how a mother dog corrects her puppies? She picks them up by their throats with her teeth... Have you ever been appalled by that behavior? Because it's the same feeling. My dog is extremely well-trained... but he still has a genetically ingrained drive to chase prey... I can't train that out of him no matter how much I try... and when a 115lb dog decides he wants to chase something on a walk, you better have a way to deter that kind of behavior. The "bite" from the prong collar gives him a half second reminder that he shouldn't be chasing things... and then he goes on about his walk, completely unbothered. It doesn't make him whine or whimper... Aside from getting his attention, he doesn't even react to it at all. I've put a prong collar on my own thigh and pulled on it... (Our own skin is SIGNIFICANTLY thinner than a dog's btw) and while it wasn't comfortable, it definitely didn't hurt. Hopefully, that helps you understand why I feel the need to put a prong collar on my completely loved and totally spoiled dog.
@bethschettino7781 Жыл бұрын
@@mindypweightloss Pit Bulls are stoic and don’t complain much even when they feel pain so the fact you’d even have to say he doesn’t whimper when the collar “bites” him means you’ve thought it could hurt him. Martingale collars work the same way without the need for metal prongs. Same principal, no medieval torture devices. The fact is if you train your dog to walk without pulling (all dogs are trainable if you take the time) or use a no-pull harness (because in reality anything pulling on a dogs neck can harm their trachea) you don’t have to resort to collars that all reputable trainers are against. Your dog, your choice. I would never do that to my Pittie.
@mindypweightloss Жыл бұрын
@bethschettino7781 Helios isn't a pit bull... he's a Dogo Argentino, which is a hunting breed with a completely different temperment and a wholely different prey drive than a pitbull, so comparing him to your pittie means nothing. I made the comment about the yelping because you obviously believe that these Collars cause pain... and they don't. Martingale collars are still a cloth collar at the end of the day and work nothing like a prong collar does and have caused the same types of injuries because they place pressure in one place on the throat when pulling. We were recommended the prong collar from several different dog trainers, all extremely reputable and highly rated and recommended. My dog does not pull on leash when we walk... UNLESS something sets off his prey drive. It's extremely rare... but it happens... and I won't take the risk of injuring my dog just because the prong collar looks scary to people who don't understand how it works.
