You’re both so patient and helpful. Thank you for sharing your experiences. One note of caution: We took our kids to Disney and many other theme parks when we were all younger. I don’t think I could do it now with my grandchildren and be of much help. Enjoy it while you can.

Thank you so sharing about your trip, experiences etc. xo My husband and I are planning our very first weekend vacation (without our daughters) since we have been married in 1989.That is 33 years ago and it was only 1 night at a hotel in town. We are traveling to PEI for a whole weekend and we are so freaking excited! I know PEI isn't far from Nova Scotia, but for us, its mainly about us going somewhere together as a couple and not parents/family. Drinking may be involved. haha. If you and Curtis can find time now, when you are both still young, perhaps the two of you could plan a weekend getaway for yourselves someplace close to home. The reason why we waited so long is because our daughters, even in their 30's, still want to go places with us, which is absolutely amazing!! ( we must be cool parents. lol 😆)But this time..its just us baby!💜

With Gas $5 a gallon and groceries so high, I dont t know how everyone is doing it...? Glad my kids are grown, and retired Early from surgery.. Be aware anyone coming to Florida, covid is spreading all over Florida. Plus, Airlines are cancelling flights all through summer in USA, staff shortages on airlines.Several people Weird times we are living through, pray everything settles down soon... I can't stand when people are judgmental and think that drinking on vacation is a bad thing. You are entitled to relax however you please just because your having a couple of drinks on vacation it doesn't mean you're all of a sudden an alcoholic. My husband and I did a trip (back) to Florida (Kissimmee area) just the two of us in Dec 2019, it was incredible! We have done a few trips there with family and my son and had some of the best times but just going at our own pace just the two of us was amazing! Both you and Curtis will no doubt appreciate going just the two of you! The quiet mornings having coffee on our patio with uninterrupted conversation while enjoying the warm sunshine was priceless not to mention shopping and taking as long as I wanted in the stores!! Ahh cannot wait to go back! So glad you all had a great time in Florida and glad to see Winnie’s smiling face again… that’s would have been parents worst nightmare at the end of the trip for you Both I can well imagine!

We have been a few times to Disney World with the family, and always get a locker at each park when we arrive. We can then put our purchases in it and keep a small cooler bag with snacks and drinks. Saves money and keeps ya hands free from carrying around the stuff! We usually only ate out one meal a day at the park and a snack for the family once a day just to try out some of the Disney food. We drove to GrandForks, ND from Winnipeg and flew Allegiant Air to keep flights cheaper. We also booked a house through VRBO in Kissimmee which was a lot cheaper than the Disney hotels. There is definitely ways to keep costs down when travelling to Florida for the Disney World experience!

My husband and I are a blended family with 4 small kids when we first got together and one Christmas when they were all with their other parents we went to Mexico just the two of us. It was amazing and now that our kid's are adults we are going back this October. You guy's will love a vaction just the two of you. I highly recommend it for all parents to do something for yourselves. 🥰🥰

Thanks for the answers and the updates. I’d love to go on an adults only vacation since we have to take our kids with us all the time. We’ve never travelled without them but they are growing up. Someone is always sick on our trips and it’s so annoying!! We are going to WDW in August and I told them they better not be sick! I think this will be our last WDW trip. I like your idea of a weekend in the US to do Christmas shopping without the kids. We might try that this year. I am glad overall your trip was pretty good. Cracker Barrel stinks unless you're getting breakfast. I like their "cinnabon" pancakes - but the store is fun. I am the same - people watching for other plus-sized people on rides, etc. to feel "okay I'll fit here, too" kind of relief. Thanks for sharing and being so real - great video!

I am from the Boston area and am glad that you aren’t generalizing everyone in Massachusetts as some of us are cordial and considerate and others are not that’s how we received the nick name “Masshole” 🤪😂 Glad you enjoyed your trip and let me tell you my family has always had similar experiences with health emergencies or vacation horrors. We made the decision to go on a Disney Cruise in the fall of 2019. It was the best thing for our family of 5 - You get all the perks of the parks, but on a freaking cruise ship to a private island! Next trip to Florida I would choose to shop at the Disney outlets around Florida instead of the parks and save a bit of moolay!

Oh Miranda, you are so like me. Think of everyone else first when it comes to buying things. Feel so guilty when I spend money on something expensive like have my hair done. The only most expensive things I buy is pants from Pennigtons and a very few tips as well.. and not often. Yup, those parks are for kids, all that is to me is making sure our daughter and then granddaughter had fun and for me and hubby a few rides but mostly just hot and walking. I was a lot younger then!!!! Glad you had a good time and made memories to last a lifetime. Time for you and Curtis to take some time for yourselves, one on one time. Your two are such good parents. 😘💕🌹😀 So to answer your question of we went on a holiday alone. Yes, to St Kitts in the Caribbean for a week when our daughter was 10. She stayed with neighbor next door and of course we got a call she had fallen and hurt herself, and my mom came 60 miles to see and make sure she was ok. She made it thru with no major issues and so did we. Always wanted to go back but most of all my dream trips would be Australlia and Barbados.

My daughter and I went to Disney in March and had a wonderful time. Both of us being plus size and me having two knee replacements found the only ride at Disney that I couldn't ride was the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. It was disapointing but other than this ride we were able to ride all the other rides. Universal Studios is a different story though - a lot of the rides are not plus size friendly. I enjoy watching your videos and love your family.

💜☕💜 Thanks for sharing. We haven't been to Disney in 4 years and I cannot get over the price of admission. Back 20 some odd years ago, you could buy a bunch of days and they did not expire. My husband and I bought our entire family 10 days of Disney and we spread that out over the course of three visits. It came out to $1,000 for 3 family members. Crazy deal. I personally don't see my family returning to Disney. The prices are outrageous. My family now prefers to hit up places like the Bahamas.

I have gone on multiple trips without my kids. Best thing for a marriage EVER. We have done Disneyland without the kids a few times, Vegas, US shopping trips, a bit of Europe. And if anyone has Disney questions, I might also be able to help. We have been over 35 times. We started going when my youngest was 2 and she is now 24. We are a Disney family

we are older and we spend as much of the winter in florida as we can.we are lucky enough to have timeshare and it works great. we always stay in marco island because it is a 1 hour drive across aligator alley highway to the florida panthers games. we can sit in the second level on the side for $35.00 each. they do not allow you to take a purse in the arena.

I agree with you about Cracker Barrel and I live in one of thr states. I've yet to understand the attraction for the place. I didn't see that you got to the ocean. Tampa is on the Gulf of Mexico, but you could have shot across FL to Daytona which we did one of the times we went down there.

My hubby and I take trips just the two of us regularly. We have a special needs son so need the breaks . We do long weekends in Ontario but have been to Mexico etc as well . We as well only had a quick honeymoon and waited till he was older before we did the trips just the 2 of us . Not bad parents we need a break

Miranda and Curtis, if you have someone that is willing to take care of your children and you can afford to get away as a couple, I say do it as often as you can. My husband and I have been traveling as just a couple once a year since our 10th anniversary which was 28 yrs ago ( yes the kids are all adults now) but they were 10, 6 and 3 when we started. I truly believe that this is one of the reasons we are still together and best friends after 38 yrs of marriage. If you are looking to travel somewhere different in Florida check out Marci island, close to Fort Meyers and Naples. Love watching your videos. 😘

I’ve been married 50 years and never had a honeymoon or vacation with my hubby. He was military and either gone away or on restricted duty then babies came then he’s gone again and no family near to babysit. Sucks. Now he has passed and that will never come again. Mind you we have been all over Canada on postings but when hubby is gone a lot no chance to go anywhere once I went 10 years without seeing any of my family. So I say you and Curtis go when you can go…

Oh, my heck! 💜💜🤣So many questions! I loved hearing more about the trip. Theme parks? No way. I live less than a half-hour from Canada's Wonderland and I won't go. Too many people and way too expensive for my taste. I'm right there with you. I will admit to being worried (by proxy) when the boys went off by themselves. I had to tell myself that they have phones to keep in touch but OMG, that's so brave of you in a park the size of Disney with all those people there. Drinking on vacation? Hell yeah! I guess they'd freak out about my drinking a glass or two of wine "just because it's Friday" My last point, in my humble opinion, religion is spoiled by people. You and Jesus - that's all you need. Bible study is good to learn more about what He means for us to understand from His writing, though. Love you (and Jesus).😊

I am from Mass and we do identify as Massholes. The US Northeast in general is a very fast paced place.. we have no patience and no effs to give. :) When i travel to where my hubs is from, South Carolina, I have a hard time adjusting to the niceness and the slower paced..lol One more thing, my last name is Orlando and I am laughing everytime you say it because that's how I say it too!!

Here is a Disney hack for the whole world. Do not go to a Disney park on the 4th of July! We made that mistake a couple years ago and let me just say that it seemed like every body in the world was there that day. You could not move left, right, forward or backward. It was awful.

Hi, when we went to Disney, we paid to go to all parks plus all meals included, we stayed on international drive, we ate out a lot, we shopped till we dropped at the outlets malls it’s loads cheaper than shopping in the Disney parks, we had the hopper pass it’s good you can rest and go back in the evening and do so much more, at euro Disney we did a 4 night package for all the parks but paid for our meals breakfast included at hotel, we loved it, but needed a holiday to recover 🤣, I also got drunk on the Budweiser once a jug from hotel bar ewww never again

Disney pricing is outrageous. We went in April, and I (not-so-secretly) don’t care if we ever go back 😬😂 For $10k, I want to go to Europe. I didn’t realize that Universal cost even more. Unbelievable. Guess they are trying to make up for what they lost in revenue over the last two years. ETA: the magic bands used to be included with your Disney vacation package (resort/park tickets), but now they cost around $30 each. Between that and having to pay for the “updated” fast pass system, which I personally think sucks since you have to be up to book by 7 am, I was totally put off, but that’s just me.

Thanks so much for answering my questions. I so feel ya about shopping. Got 4 kids. Only 1 girl and believe me and my Princess LOVE SHOPPING. My husband is like Curtis he will go sometimes because I want him to but it's so not his thing. As for the trailer men just dont get it. I've already said once our kids are older I will never ever get another trailer. It's just another place I have to go cook and clean. As for vacation alone what is that. My husband and I have been together 19 years and we are lucky if we get 1 night a year. I see these couples who go down south for a week kids free and I'm so envious. Dont get me wrong love my kids dearly but lord I need a break.
