Same here Donna. I lost my front tooth today biting down on a spare rib. I went to a Dental 365 her eon LOng Island, NY, and they gave me a price quote of $4,200.00 I had to walk out. There has to be a better way to make some monthly time payments

If you get an implant is that something that can be used later to anchor permanent dentures? When faced with the root canal and crown option which is very expensive anyways.. does it make to just go for the implant? If I'm in my 50s can a dentist tell me today If will likely be a good candidate from implants in my 60s? How do you feel about one day implants and going to Mexico or Costa Rica to get implants for 1/3 the price?

I will be glad to answer your questions: 1. If you get an implant, it can potentially be used later on as an attachment anchor for dentures. The abutment on the implant will need to be changed however to clip to the denture. Also, for a denture, implants typically need to be parallel to each other to make attachment/removal of the denture easier. That specific placement may not be feasible if the implants were initially used to replace individual teeth (individual teeth are not always parallel to each other). 2. Age does not really play a factor in the success/failure of the implants. What matters most/negatively affects the healing of the implants are: Uncontrolled Diabetes, smoking, generalized severe gum disease (periodontitis), taking medications that affect immune system (immunosupressants/immunomodulators) and bone metabolism (Bisphosponates). If none of those apply to you, then you are a good candidate, despite the age factor. 3. I am very strongly against "dental tourism". I have multiple blog posts on that particular topic on my website blog. Just recently I saw a patient with an absolutely horrendous situation come back from Mexico where he had implants placed. I could not help him, because the case was beyond salvageable at that point. Just like with anything, you generally get what you pay for, but you don't get what you don't pay for. Affordable dentures do implants for $1000 each. I had 14 extractions 11 implants 5 upper, 6 lower and snap in ultimate fit dentures ,all inclusive cost $14,500. Not everyone needs so many , I wanted to be able to chew on marbles. Also had no interest finance 24 months from care credit. Clear choice quoted $50k for All on 4 , that's 8 implants, 4up and 4 down. My were done in Akron, ohio but they are a national chain.

Also , some dentist do only Implant, Can I buy from the surgery dentist Abutment , so my dentist can finish the work (abutment +crown). on this way I can make sure the abutment and implant are same brand. Canada Implant only $1500-$2500.. Abroad 60% less

I am enquiring about dental implant. I live in Australia and the cost of dental implants is quite high, I have to have a tooth removed and this will happen locally in Australia. Basically I am wondering how much would be the total cost for a quality implant to have it done in America. I already have one implant and it was expensive and my health insurance didn't cover implants. I thought perhaps having a holiday in the USA as I have never been there before and perhaps have a dental implant done, however, I would like to have an idea of the cost if possible, thank you..

I had an implant done about 2 1/2 years ago, with my current dentist. I'm quite sure it cost $4600, my initial dentist where my insurance covered most dental work did not cover implants, and he would have charged me over $6000 AUD, so I shopped around and actually possibly could have got the implant done at my eldest daughter's dentist for around $3800 AUD. I didn't chose him, although maybe I should have, because my initial dentist, the one that would have charged me over $6000 said my daughter's dentist sounded like a cowboy, meaning he was a bit of a charlatan which of course he wasn't. Now I have since had another bottom tooth removed and I will not get an implant in Australia. I may get a bridge done, as my insurance may cover much of the cost or do nothing, leave it as it is. I have seen that I could get an implant done in India, which can be very cheap according to the advertisements. However, I may not be able to get another implant done as I don't have much jaw bone on which to put an implant, but I am not clear about this, so next time I visit my dentist I will clarify what my options are and even if an implant could be done. The dentist I see now, said a bridge would be fine, but there is no hurry to do anything at the moment and I will review my options in a few months.

I think the prices for implants in Australia are coming down, because when my brother had to have a tooth or teeth removed, he must have enquired about implants and he said the price was $10000 AUD or something like that, but that would have been over 10 years ago.
