I have found the discount method works the best. X price for image 1 and 10% - 20% discount on additional images. This is mainly for additional shots of the same scene, obviously if there is a new area to model up and render its back to X price for image 1 etc :)

I use this method too, I should a little bit over estimate my prices, clients can be a real shark !

I do not negotiate. Simply, if they can't afford my service they'll have to go somewhere else. I have found that the ones who complain about price are the hardest to please, anyway I use a Per diem when I estimate a project. Basically, I know what I need to make per day and I multiply that by how many days it'll take me to complete the project. Call it per hour, per day, or per project, it is all basically the same math.

Hi, Fabio! Thank you for your work)) Recently I was making pricing by the discount system. In a nutshel it is like: 1 picture will cost 1000, 3 images - 2000 and 5 images like 2500. Every addition image will cost 300. And every remodelling causes price to come to the start. Even though it could be described as unfavourable deal for me, right now I am about getting more regular customers and It seems to me that it could work well.

Great Fabio! Well, we've been changing and trying different ways to charge for projects, and finally came up with something that somehow does work for us. We actually charge a fixed amount for a general model. Concerning the visuals, we charge a fixed rate for the first image of each space and a reduced price for the rest of the images of this same space, let's say a 20% less. In this first visual, we are also including an "addicional modelling" which is needed to fine tune this space. =)

I like this approach! How did you get to it? What was the optimization process like? How long did it take you to get there?

Hi again! Been off for holidays! It actually was a trial and error... During our first projects, we realized that we were running out of budget pretty fast on the modelling stage, what forced us to spend less time on the rest of the stages, which are (let's say) the funny ones. We started to try different ways to face the situation and started to apply a first version of this method. After a bunch of projects, we found that it actually was a fair method. Both for the client and for us. It took us something like 9 months from the very beggining to the "final" system. They appreciate that we study their project in depth prior to offer a customized quotation. After some time, we can more or less know how long will a project take to be modelled (and then add an extra 30% of the time to solve unexpected problems). Regarding the image price, they also understand (or we try to make them so) that we can't model a window that it's going to be on the foreground the same way as if it's going to be in a first plane, here's the 20% plus. Besides , they are also tempted to take several shots from the same space as "it has a 20% off" (which is great for us xD). Let's say they consider it as a discount, but we consider it as the extra time that takes us to fine tune and detail a specific space. Once we've done the work, it's valid for the rest of the shots. Finally, we consider this method valid for us (it may not be valid for another studio) and we keep on tunning day after day it in order to optimize it. We can vary a bit the %, the prices or even offer a better price (if we really want to develope a projects) by reducing correction rounds. At the end of the day, it just a matter of numbers. Either you end up a project with green or red numbers. Green, ok. Red, bad! If red, the we have to find what went wrong and how can we fix it. =)

Hey Fabio! Great vídeo. As always you are one of the few who brings this topics to public discussion. Im also a 3d artist who would like to know more how to price a unreal (real time) Project. Thnk u for your videos i ve learned a lot from them.

Great video, though I'm not a big fan of giving discounts - of course everyone is different, but if you give a higher price, that might deter a new client to begin with and they won't use you anyway. The next thing is, if you get into a situation of offering a discount, you then open up the client to put pressure on you to give more. Me, I prefer less headache - here is the price, take it or leave it !

Hello , I'm an architect from Palestine , and i'm new to ArchiVis .. Recently I had my first client, he has a little typical house on papers within 200 meters. Actually 10 x 10 meters box. He wanted to preview his house n get an imagination of what he will build. He had some little ideas for his house, the first step I take , I sketched him a quick perspective showing the details he wants, second : set a time range for submission. Third started working on it., I used Blender on my 6 yrs old weak laptop, and for the first time taking a serious project in blender. It took me 3 days to navigate blender , model the house, test renders and getting the final images. at the End he was delighted with the results and paid me 130$. It was a good fair though.

Gran bel video, Fabio! Soprattutto per noi "giovani" in questa professione riuscire a far capire il valore del nostro lavoro ai clienti e quantificarlo economicamente non è semplicissimo. Grazie per il tuo prezioso contributo! Ci vediamo a Vienna! ;)

Why negotiate discounts? Property developers would never offer you a 10% discount on an apartment if you promised to come back and buy another one. Keep your priced at 100% and try to avoid adding charges unless completely necessary . I usually just throw a bone when it comes to charges. Once you have low quotes floating around the marketplace, word travels fast. Then everyone wants 10% off.
@FabioPalvelli6 жыл бұрын
Let's be careful, I never mentioned price for one single image, also give us a discount if we come back is bullshit, when you come back then we can maybe discuss a discount. My focus is on optimization matrix always. If you can and you don't have to, keep your prices 100%😉

Hello Fabio, recently I have met clients who on learning that changes in the model will cost them extra, ask for my 3dsax files. What should be my. Reply to them for this? Also sometimes if supposedly there is a single bedroom which I am. Supposed to give the render of. They ask just for one view. Usually the charge of the view is less taking in context that each room requires at least two views. But when they ask for one, I have to increase the price as per my labor and they are not happy with the price then. How can I avoid the same?

We have dropped the 3d model price and per shot price. It was to hard to explain to the client thath the 3d model from his architect are very bad quality to handle and we can't use it without remodeling 80% of it :)

Hi Fabio. I found your channel recently and have learnt so much from your videos. I am a 3D Artist who specializes in Real Time Rendering using Unreal Engine. I give clients the opportunity to explore and interact with their Archviz scenes in Real Time using VR or Desktop Applications. I do struggle with pricing for these projects and sometimes feel I am undercharging. Anyone else out there who offers these kind of services and have an idea on pricing. Thanks again, awesome videos.

I hope I do get the chance to do that soon. I have some good leads that I look forward to interview soon ;) Thanks a lot man, means the world to me!

Hey GvR, we do the same thing! Each client is different but it's related to the price of the real estate. The more expensive projects have larger budgets so you can charge more. I'd suggest having a fixed base price and then as the details of the projects come out, you price accordingly. I also offer them discount pricing for ordering more work.
@GvRDesigns6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. I normally charge per sqm with discounts for bulk projects. I also have a fixed base price. Thanks for the advice.
