The google earth method is a good idea, thanks for the info. I would never recommend measuring by boards, unless you’re not going for accuracy.

Measuring boards would be difficult and very inaccurate. The pickets themselves can vary in width. I recommend measuring panels because most often you can rely on a consistent measurement between 6 and 8' based on how most contractors install. It will give a general idea of overall length, but not anywhere near exact.

A measuring wheel... Lol making this way harder than it has to be. Even a 100 ft tape measure.
