In this video I break down the approximate costs of living here in #Minsk #Belarus. Disclaimer: These figures are not exact but they gave you a rough idea of what to expect if you decide to relocate here by yourself, if you are renting and you depend on public transport to get around. I don't include fuel costs if you have a car. Of course costs can depend on your circumstances and lifestyle and may vary.
Sidenotes: If your flat is non BY owned, heating alone (communal heating gas) can be as much as $40. In the final part dealing with communal bills (communal heating gas) is included and not to be confused with Gas for cooking. It's totally different.

great vid Partizan. I only know Brest- rent, utilities, public transport and anything public run (museums, sports facilities) are really cheap. Anything private (bars, restaurants, sports clubs) and big hypermarkets are roughly the same as western Europe. Service oriented stuff is also pretty cheap- repairs on cars, shoes, watches etc. For food a stolovaya provides eat out dining at a fraction of the cost of other restaurants and tastes excellent although they are not 'fancy' but cool experience if you are from the west.

The only problem is ... i checked Minsk job vacancies for engineers and max Salary was around 1200 USD(around 1000 vacancies), while IT sysAdmin has same and PHP coder 3000 USD (single vacancy). I think Belarus missed whole concept of engineering. Make me so sad to see that there is no real work for electronic engineers like myself. Job for them literly was alike "repair stuff", like hold up - wait a minute, engineer to "repair you stuff"? Oh and i almost forget, tons of vacancies to be a truck driver for around same 3000 USD. Pretty obvious who you wanna be there when you grow up. *Breathtaking perspective*

Cheap to live, working wage is another thing and all you need to give up is freedom. Don't get me wrong, every country has it's draw backs, no country is perfect, but If I want to call out the government, I can without being worried about little men showing up at night. I understand that 99 % of men who move to Russia or Belarus is to find the beautiful + feminine + sexual women which practically don't exist in the West, so we should add the cost of that too. In my case I would spend much more on that than the 250 usd that you say is the average money that people (I understand expats) spend in pubs, restaurants, clubs. I'm thinking about spending long periods in Russia or Belarus 3 + 3 months per year if possible, but it has become quite complicated now....
