Wow you're the only one on youtube who is actually honest about the prices in ny. Idk why but everyone seems to keep the prices sort of secret and it annoys me lol :)

Manhattan I'd say 2500 to 3000 a month for a studio or 1 bed. Brooklyn is definitely 1500- 2500 starting but can range up to 3000/ 4000 for a 1-2 bedroom . If you share you will pay a little less but I've seen roommate for 1450 plus for 2-3 people.

ugh, I wanna move to New York sooo bad ! it's ... ugh, everyone just makes it sound impossible and unrealistic cause like i'm only 20 and am currently living in Paris, which is literally on another continent, so everyone around me is super sceptical about it but i'm gonna work my ASS off and make it happen. Someday. Thank you for this video, super hopeful and encouraging to be honest.

Believe it or not, you can eat at a four or five star restaurant in NYC for youself, and spend less then $50..If your on a budget instead of having a meal order an appetizer, and don't order a drink...Drink water..A glass of wine can cost you from $17 to over $20...I like wine with my meal, so I do have at least two glasses..That can bring your bill up...This is a menu of an appetizer in a five star restaurant... Butter Lettuce House Salad with Balsamic or Dijon Vinagrette 11.50 Twice Baked Vermont Blue Cheese Puff 15.00 Charred Shishito Peppers 11.00 Caesar Salad 13.50 Iceberg Lettuce Wedges, Blue Cheese Dressing with Chopped Tomatoes and Bacon . . . add 4.00 13.00 Thick-Cut Smoked Bacon 15.00 House-Cured Salmon 16.00 Maryland Lump Crab Cakes 20.00 Oysters Rockefeller 20.00 You can also order a sidedish for less then $12 with the appetizer..

Brooklyn apartments, if you're referring to 1 bedroom, varies between $1,300-$1,600. Rooms you can find between $750-$900. Take it from someone who lived in BK for many years.

As a native New Yorker (lol) the only mistake in the video is generalizing rent prices for the Burroughs. I live in Brooklyn and my rent is not extremely expensive and it's pretty spacious, but in other areas rent can be over 4,000 dollars. It's very important to know that different areas in the Burroughs have different lifestyles. Hope this helps anyone :) Rent and expenses is probably the base and one of the most important things about living in NYC
