As a Costa Rican it is funny how she says that is amazing how a country allows you to just go and buy land. Well that is the problem, with a lot of people from other countries moving here, the locals are being kicked out of the land because of the high cost of living that this situation produce. Specially because you buy in dollars, not in our local coin. For you is a paradise, for locals is, having to relocate elsewhere. I hope one day, can be establish more regulations about buying land if you are from another country. Same thing is hapenning to Hawai. Not hate or anything, is good that you are happy here, but is sad as a Costa Rican to see how we are losing our own land.

Yeah and this why Hispanics and Latinos should have already created a Latin super power and kick these strangers in our land that’s why Asians don’t let strangers own or have anything in their land or home.
@alexchavez32442 жыл бұрын
It’s called colonialism and ginfification meaning you kick out the native people of the land it’s sad that I’m Hawaiian and Polynesian people can’t own homes they’re ancestors lived because the white man stole it and put a price tag for them not to own
@alexchavez32442 жыл бұрын
That’s why we should build a pac and say no strangers in our land the natives in America already deal with it and are punked sad if our ancestors were alive today they would be ashamed of us all not to push back to these strangers and colonizers.

Costa Rica is amazingly diverse. Pacific, Caribbean and Interior are all very different. Pacific is by far most expensive; Caribbean least expensive. For example, if you don't want full "back-to-nature" homesteading, a Caribe development called Grand View Estates, near Siquirres, has lot prices ranging from $40K/ha and up, dependiing upon the view. Some resale lots might be cheaper. Grand View is a gated community with clubhouse with swimming pool as well as river with waterfall. Water and electicity on-site; internet available. HOA keeps roads and public areas in good shape. A nice mix of middle-class Ticos and Gringoes. Very active Neighbourhood Watch. Two hours to San Jose; 45 min to Caribbean beaches; 20 min to market town of Siquirres, which has a modern hospital if needed.

You have plenty of area to explore around you, but you don’t need to pay taxes on that land or maintain it. Congrats to both of you. We just did something very similar. Alltough we are much much older than the two of you. We sold our Farm back in Canada , along with everything we own, moved to Costa rica, We spent 7 months travelling Costa Rica looking at properties. We only just started Vlogging it all in June of 2021 after being asked by many if we would start to vlog. We just celebrated our 1st one year in Costa Rica on the 18th March. We ended up buying two properties, last September, side by side, one that already had a tico home on it which we have been fixing up. The land next door we are currently buiding two new rental casiatas along with a 10x 30 pool. On another part of our property nextdoor we plan to plant a small food forest. Yesterday we visted an indigenous community and they sold us 8 dragon fruit plants. very excited! They showed us there beautiful artwork. That video i still have to do lol.....Doing these videos is a lot of work. UG! I am guessing you are some where up near Liberia? We are on a mountain just a short 10 minute drive from Samara in the beautiful Nicoya. The Blue zone of Costa rica. Enjoy the Journey & congrats again! Sins & Ski,

Some time ago foreigners or as the locals call them gringos came to Costa Rica bought fincas then they splitted them out, segregated, raised up the prices in several times $$$ and started to make business. It resulted in the situation that locals cannot afford prices of the lots closer to the beach. And that's very pity and makes ticos feel angry. Although Costa Rica is a beautiful country with really nice people.

Buenos Tardes y Saludos. I'm so glad to see younger people fulfilling their dreams of land ownership in such a beautiful country. I & a sister in law started looking at property on both sides of C.R. in 1990. Found some great choices around Tamarindo & the Quepos area close to Manuel Antonio that ran around $ 15,000 USD per hectare on the beach side of the road. We were looking to build 5 or 6 Cabinas and a restaurant on a 10 hectare piece. We couldn't convince our families that it was, and still is, a great choice of a " Pura Vida " life style. I still travel to Costa Rica every couple of years just to enjoy what should have been. Maybe we'll run into you this coming winter. Saludos y Pura Vida Tico at heart

It 's so great to hear stories like yours! Congratulations in the arrival of your new grandchild! I agree with you, prices of properties here are increasing rapidly. Not many years ago, anyone could buy a piece of land very cheaply, nowadays, depending on the location it may not be not as affordable, and I feel there's been a boom in the real estate market lately, so prices will continue to increase. I was born and raised here. I got married and relocated to the States but once we decided to have children, we moved back to Costa Rica. We feel it is better for our kids to grow up here surrounded by beautiful mountains and amazing caring people. Schools are good and physicians and medical related issues are very affordable. My husband and I live in Guayabo area. We love it here, we're close to kayaking rivers, the Guayabo Monument, Turrialba Volcano and many gourgeous waterfalls. I love waking up to birds singing in the morning! And the climate is great! What can I say, it's a little piece of heaven. We own a house and also a small property in the area, we both have jobs in town and our kids attend school in Turrialba. The reason why we decided to sell our gorgeous property is because we both work and don't really have the time to maintain it, but for anyone who is thinking to relocate here, I think this is a great place to live.

@@ileanaaraya3830 I agree 100% with everything you said. Children should not go to school and do active shooter drills. The US is a mess and when I hear someone say it is better than Costa Rica I bust out laughing. The propaganda machine is getting old and outdated and people know it. The US has so many issues that are not addressed. Living in a beautiful, peaceful, safe country of outstanding Ticos is truly living free. Plus, yes, the healthcare is outstanding. Thank you for allowing me to live in your country.

Just came across your channel, this is super informative! My partner and I just moved to Costa Rica and we're looking into buying land with the ultimate goal of starting an intentional community. Would love to know what area you guys are in. Thanks for your beautiful work!

Oh man. Thats def expensive land btw. Even in the US. You can get 10 acres for 50k very easily. But really cool video!

Be sure and tell people if they are not residents that they will have to leave the country every 90 days. I am a permanent resident and have lived here 12 years. You have a lot to learn.

This totally opened up a new world. I’d be interested in learning about how much it’s going to cost to build up the land / build a cabin or home there. Plus the taxes
