Surrogacy is an excellent option for gay men and LGBTQ individuals or couples who are ready to expand their families. This path to parenthood allows same-sex couples to fulfill their parenting dream while maintaining a genetic link to their children. While the process of surrogacy for same-sex couples shares many similarities with other parents’ experiences, there are some additional considerations. It can be a lengthy and expensive process. There's so much to consider! One answer does not fit for every case of family planning, but as we navigate through the world of having a baby as a gay couple, we will be in the business of learning as much as possible and sharing what we learn.

I believe in the family wholw heartedly but wish surrogacy would be a shut down practice because thechild didn't have tge choice. Kid grows up feeling like a test tube babywith no connection to a thier blood. I have gay friends and not a niggit nut whould be so depressed if i grew up a test tube baby to 2 gay men. I wouldn't be a happy camper with due respect. There is a video on KZbin where a surrogate child is an adult fighting against surrogate laws to abolish it saying its do bad

Only a suggestion, please. As a family counselor for a number of years (church setting), I advocated that naming a child that comes through surrogacy, new parents choose a family name of some importance. Why? Sometimes issues arise concerning the surrogate child, like blood relative, weird naming that is foreign to both families of the spouses, race (yes, race is still an issue unfortunately), and a myriad of other issues. It has been my experience that naming a child(ren) after a revered family member cuts through a lot of BS. For example, one couple used the first name of one grandparent for the child's first name and the first name of the other grandfather from the other side of the couple as a middle name. I.e. Matt's grandfather name as the child's first name and Michael's grandfather's name as a middle name. Or vis versa. And then comes the issue of a last name. Is one spouse taking the other husband's name and the child(ren) will have the same last name as the rest of the family. It's ticklish as there are still strong holds against same sex marriages and families. So chuck the egos and do your best for the child(ren). I wish you well in the process of becoming Dads. I wonder what the child will think about those flailing arms of Daddy Matt. 🤣 The inquisitive looks will be priceless. Love you guys. Happy Daddying 😘😘

During pregnancy, cells from the baby cross the placenta and enter the mother's body, where they can become part of her tissues FOR LIFE. The mother's cell can also be found in the child's blood & bone FOR LIFE...

The baby will be looking for its mother. Research has shown us that the baby experiences the loss of their mother as a death. Affecting the baby's mental & physical health for LIFE.

UGH, makes me sick the hear that it will cost a loving, responsible, respectful couple around $200k to have a child when I personally know a person with 9 kids, 1 on the way and has had 4 abortions and the state have covered it all for 18 years and counting. To make it worse, she is not even ashamed of herself, but gloats about how much food stamps and cash she has gotten, and about how much stimulus and child credits she has gotten, because surprisingly she actually works a full time job. I'm just happy that you two are financial able to save and cover the cost.

True but there’s also things like foster care which can be a lot cheaper. If you want a baby specifically & in a certain way, then you gotta deal with the costs.
